Senior Analyst, Loss Prevention Analytics | Brampton

As a Senior Analyst within Loss Prevention Analytics, you'll play an important role in identifying and investigating fraud, internal theft and other risks across our retail business.

This position combines hands-on investigative analysis with the development of more scalable, data-driven approaches to fraud detection. Working with large and complex datasets, you'll identify suspicious activity, uncover emerging patterns and produce actionable intelligence to support our Asset Protection teams.

We're evolving how our team operates, moving beyond individual case investigations toward more proactive and repeatable detection capabilities. You'll work alongside experienced Asset Protection professionals, combining their operational knowledge with advanced analytical methods to strengthen how we identify, investigate and prevent loss across the business.

What You’ll Do:

  • Investigate complex fraud, internal theft and loss prevention concerns using transactional, operational and customer data from multiple enterprise systems.
  • Develop and maintain SQL queries, analytical datasets and exception-based reporting to identify suspicious activity and produce actionable investigation files.
  • Work closely with investigators and Asset Protection partners to understand emerging fraud patterns and translate those findings into repeatable detection logic.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual investigative processes and develop reusable analytical tools that improve the team’s efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, relationships and potential risks, validating findings to ensure accuracy and reduce false positives.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of recurring and ad hoc reporting, dashboards and analytical solutions.
  • Support the preparation of investigative case files and provide clear, evidence-based findings to field Asset Protection teams.
  • Collaborate with Fraud Analytics, Data Engineering, Technology and business partners to improve data access, analytical capabilities and fraud detection methods.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear recommendations for business stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Support ongoing reporting and investigative activities while contributing to the modernization of the team’s analytical approach.

What You Bring:

  • Post-secondary education in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong SQL skills, including the ability to independently query, join and analyze large datasets across multiple sources.
  • Experience working with enterprise data platforms such as Google BigQuery, GCP or comparable cloud-based environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to approach ambiguous problems, develop analytical hypotheses, investigate findings and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Experience developing reusable queries, automated reporting, dashboards or other analytical tools.
  • Strong analytical curiosity, critical thinking and attention to data quality and accuracy.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting and visualization tools.
  • Ability to communicate complex analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with Python, Power BI, Looker Studio, MicroStrategy or similar analytical tools is an asset.
  • Experience in fraud analytics, risk management, retail Asset Protection, Loss Prevention or another investigative discipline is an asset.

What Success Looks Like

You'll be comfortable moving between detailed investigations and broader analytical problem-solving. Beyond identifying individual cases of suspicious activity, you'll recognize opportunities to turn investigative findings into reusable detection methods that allow the team to identify similar risks across the business.

Your contributions will help strengthen the team's investigative capabilities while reducing reliance on manual, case-by-case analysis and enabling more proactive fraud detection

If you’re up to the challenge, then we would love to hear from you. Apply today, and get the process started.
