Job description

Senior Commercial Manager - Canada

ClearScore is on a mission to improve people's financial well-being around the world. We have grown tobe one of the largest Fintechs in the UK, South Africa and Australia with 26 million users worldwide. We entered Canada in 2022 and have since scaled to over 850,000 users, becoming the fastest growingCredit Report and Marketplace App in Canada.
As Senior Commercial Manager, you will own commercial relationships with Canada's major banks, financial institutions and leading Fintechs, using your commercial instincts and a deep understanding of our data to identify and drive growth across our marketplace. You will bring strategies to life from conception through to in-market delivery, partnering with external partners and internal teams to continuously optimize conversion and commercial outcomes. This is not a supporting role, you will set the direction and own the numbers.

You’ll report to the Head of Canada and work closely with the wider Canada leadership team, including the Commercial Executive.

What you will be doing:

  • Own commercial strategy for the Canadian Marketplace, from shaping direction to delivering against annual revenue targets
  • Build and maintain deep relationships with our major bank, financial institution and fintech partners, understanding their ambitions and challenges and working collaboratively to maximize the reach and performance of their products on the ClearScore platform
  • Negotiate commercial arrangements with new and existing partners, ensuring value created through our partnerships is appropriately shared
  • Use our rich dataset to monitor marketplace performance continuously, identify growth opportunities, and forecast the value of new initiatives for ClearScore users, our partners, and our revenue
  • Partner with Product, CRM, Analytics and Tech to prioritize and deliver initiatives that drive commercial outcomes and optimize the marketplace experience for ClearScore users
  • Responsible for the performance and day to day management of one Commercial Executive team member who will support you across the management of the marketplace

Skills we'd love you to have

  • Significant experience in a commercially focused role, with a consistent track record of delivering results
  • Strong analytical skills and genuine curiosity for data. You can spot trends, understand what is driving them, and turn that into action
  • Proven experience managing and influencing senior stakeholders, internally and externally
  • Comfort with ambiguity, and entrepreneurial mindset, and readiness to step into full ownership from the outset
  • Proven ability to lead and align cross-functional teams without direct authority, driving initiatives through influence rather than hierarchy
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence presenting to senior and diverse audiences
  • Experience managing or mentoring direct reports, and a genuine interest in the development of those around you
  • Previous experience in any of the following would be beneficial, but is not a requirement:
    • Strategy consulting
    • A commercially focused, client-facing environment such as relationship, partner, or account management
    • A consumer finance, fintech, or B2B technology company

Why ClearScore?

ClearScore is on a mission to make the world of personal finance clearer, calmer, and easier to understand. It starts with the free credit score and report but we’re about so much more and we want to take the complex financial decisions that people make in their lives and make them easier.

We hold one of the biggest FinTech user bases in the world of over 18 million users but run ourselves like little start-ups. You’re encouraged to challenge the status quo and fight for the better. Since our launch in July 2015 in the UK we have expanded our product into South Africa in 2017, and Australia in 2020 and we recently started in the Canadian Market.

We’re launching our product in Canada because we believe that we have an amazing product and think that it can make a big difference for people.

Our company culture is a fundamental part of all we have achieved. We believe in hiring smart, driven, passionate and diverse people who are keen on having a real impact in our organization. We trust you to manage your own time, so we offer flexible work and no fixed desk hours. We don't micromanage and believe in measuring outcomes rather than effort. We have an inclusive culture where all, regardless of seniority, are encouraged to contribute with their ideas, look after their wellbeing and actively seek opportunities for career growth.

We also have a super-fast and friendly interview process, which is more like having a friendly discussion than being put under a microscope or pressure. We want to know the real you and if you’d be a great fit for us.

Benefits:

  • 25 days paid holiday and an additional “duvet day” on your birthday
  • Up to 6% matched pension
  • Enhanced Maternity and Paternity plans
  • Flexible work hours and a hybrid working model
  • Continued investment into learning and development
  • In person team socials
  • Health and Dental insurance - including physical and mental health support
  • Access to Perkbox
  • Life Insurance
  • Culture and inclusion representatives
  • Transparent pay structure and a career growth plan
  • No clock-watching culture
  • Regular Lunch and Learns with guest speakers
