The Senior Product Manager, Echo MS is responsible for owning the product strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle of the Echo MS+ platform (including configurations with ZenoTOF 7600, ZenoTOF 8600, and 6500+ systems). This role drives customer success in high-throughput screening by translating customer and market needs into product requirements, business cases, and launch-ready solutions, while monitoring product quality.

This position reports to the Director, Mass Spectrometry Product Management, and is part of the Mass Spectrometry Product Management team within Product, Marketing & Growth (PMG). It is on-site in Toronto, Canada.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Own the Echo MS+ product and platform strategy, integrated roadmap, priorities, sequencing, and dependencies, and drive product concepts through to launch. Work with the Pharma & Biopharma Market Vertical Unit to develop business cases, including ROI, assumptions, risks, and resource requests, and lead build/partner/buy assessments for Echo MS+ and related technologies.
  • Define product specifications, technical requirements, and user needs in partnership with R&D, the Center of Excellence, Digital Software, and the Pharma & Biopharma Market Vertical Unit, including data processing needs for high-throughput workflows in SCIEX OS.
  • Manage supply, parts pricing, and contract terms, and maintain pricing and cost assumptions for Echo MS+ systems and modules.
  • Lead product value propositions, competitive positioning, and differentiation for Echo MS+, and partner with Product Marketing, Market Vertical Units, and regional commercial teams on launch execution, launch readiness, and customer advocacy. Drive install success, resolve customer escalations, and develop reference accounts, and plan the transition of Echo MS+ systems from launch to sustainment.
  • Contribute to NPI revenue reviews, pipeline and funnel analysis, and product health, using customer and field feedback to diagnose product, workflow, competitive, pricing, and adoption barriers.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, analytical science, engineering, or a related scientific field (advanced degree is a plus).
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, applications, or technical marketing for mass spectrometry, analytical instrumentation, or laboratory automation in the life sciences.
  • Working knowledge of mass spectrometry workflows and drug discovery applications such as high-throughput screening, ADME, or compound QC.
  • Demonstrated experience owning a product through a stage-gate new product development process, including business case (ROI) development, user needs definition, and launch readiness.
  • Experience managing OEM, supplier, or technology partner relationships, including pricing, supply, and agreements for instrument systems.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience with high-throughput sampling or automation platforms such as acoustic ejection, open port interface (OPI) sampling, or liquid handling integration in pharma and biotech discovery.
  • Experience defining requirements for mass spectrometry data acquisition and processing software, such as SCIEX OS, for high-throughput workflows.
  • Familiarity with the Danaher Business System and its product development and launch excellence tools.
