About The Role
Frontend Foundations builds the shared base that every product team at Jane builds on. That means our design system, our frontend infrastructure, and the delivery model that helps teams ship UI faster and more consistently. When those foundations are solid, the teams building for clinics, practitioners, and their patients can put their energy into the experiences that help the helpers.
We sit within Enablement, a group focused on making it easier, safer, and more delightful for everyone at Jane to build. We think of our work as a paved road: a well-loved path teams choose because it's the fastest way to do great work. Our design system (Burrito) and our Module Federation setup are ready for more teams, and 2027 is the year of adoption. That means helping teams move from legacy UX to Burrito, from Rails views to React, and from the monolith to Module Federation, with tooling so most teams can make those moves themselves. So much of how we build now happens with AI agents in the loop, so we want our components, patterns, and docs to be just as useful to an agent as they are to the people guiding it.
As our Senior Product Manager, you'll own the strategy for that platform and the trust that comes with it. You'll steer alongside your design and development leads and spend real time with the frontend engineers, designers, and product teams who are your main customers. Your job is to find the friction in how they build and turn the best opportunities into solutions people love to adopt. If you care about craft, enjoy platform work, and get excited about how AI can help us help the helpers, we'd love to meet you.
The Impact You Could Have
Drive adoption across teams. Help teams move from legacy UX to our shared design system, from HAML to React, and from the monolith to Module Federation, with tooling and a contribution model so most teams can extend the system themselves.
Own the strategy and roadmap for our design system and frontend platform, from components, patterns, and tokens to AI tooling. Treat it as a product: define who adopts it, set baselines and targets, and build the case for investment with metrics, signals, and stories from the customers you serve.
Run discovery with the builders who use the platform, through interviews, surveys, and usage data. Treat the steady stream of support requests as signal about where teams get stuck, and balance it against other priorities.
Steer the work alongside your design and development leads as a true triad, partnering closely on quality, accessibility, and more. Make architectural decisions and trade-offs clear to non-specialists and leadership alike.
Own how changes reach clinics safely, from deploy resilience and browser support to frontend observability, so builders can see how their work lands and actually makes our customers' lives better.
Make agents first-class users of the platform: shape AI-ready components, documentation, and patterns so agentic tools build with our design system and our standards by default, and prototype your own ideas so people can see where we’re headed.
The Experience We Feel We Need
5+ years in product management, including time owning a platform, developer tool, design system, or other internal product where adoption is earned.
A strong grasp of modern frontend development, including React, TypeScript, component architecture, build tooling, and testing, at a level where senior engineers trust your judgment.
Experience treating an internal platform as a product, including adoption strategy, versioning, deprecation, and migration paths.
Working knowledge of accessibility standards like WCAG and how they shape requirements for design systems.
Hands-on comfort with AI-assisted development, from using AI for a strong first draft you then curate, to spinning up a quick prototype or visual roadmap that helps people see what you mean.
Experience making a platform work for AI agents, such as agent-readable docs, MCP integrations, or context files that help coding agents follow your standards.
A collaborative, curious style and a knack for influencing design, engineering, and product leaders without formal authority.
Clear, concise writing and comfort presenting to both technical and executive audiences.
Experience with Storybook, design tokens, monorepos, Module Federation, or mobile design system delivery is a nice bonus.
If you don't meet every single qualification but are excited about this role, we'd still love to hear from you.

Compensation & Benefits
At Jane, we’re committed to paying fairly, clearly, and above all, paying for growth. This role has an annual salary range of $117,100 to $182,900. While that is a large range, it is intentional. It reflects the full growth journey someone might take in the role, from developing skills early on to becoming highly proficient and ultimately achieving excellence.
Most new hires join at the accomplished stage, which for this role represents an annual salary of $139,000.
