Job description

About The Role

Access control decides what everyone in Jane can see and do, from the front desk to the practitioner to the clinic owner. It sits at the heart of how clinics keep sensitive information private, whether that's patient records, compensation details, or notes from a mental health practice. Getting it right is a big part of how clinics trust Jane with the work that matters most to them.

We're bringing on a Product Manager for our Access Control squad. You'll join the identity portfolio within Enablement, working alongside the Product Manager who leads the broader identity strategy and acts as a thought partner as you shape the access control work. There's a lot ahead, from improving the roles clinics get out of the box to bringing every product area onto a shared access model that fits how clinics actually work.

Every product team at Jane owns a piece of this, so much of the job is bringing those teams along and helping them prioritize and decide together. You'll talk with clinics and internal teams, define permission and role requirements, and work closely with cross-functional peers to ship. There's a clear path to grow here too, taking on more of the cross-team leadership for access control as you build context. If you love untangling systems and protecting people's privacy, we'd love to meet you.

The Impact You Could Have

  • Own access control execution for the squad, from the backlog and refinement to prioritization and shipping.

  • Drive discovery with clinics and internal teams, defining permission and role requirements and writing the briefs that guide the work.

  • Help every product team bring their area onto a shared access model, building alignment through influence and making it easy for teams to prioritize and decide.

  • Improve the roles clinics get out of the box today, and lay the groundwork for how access control grows with clinics' needs.

  • Lead clear, thoughtful change communication so clinics understand what's changing, why, and how it helps them.

  • Bring empathy to sensitive contexts like compliance and privacy so access decisions protect the people who rely on them.

  • Regularly share status, risks, and progress on the work so the teams and leadership always know where things stand.

  • Champion pragmatic, responsible AI adoption in how you discover, write, and prototype, using AI for a strong first pass and bringing your own judgment to curate it.

The Experience We Feel We Need

  • 3+ years in product management, or in a closely related role with a move into product, ideally on platforms, identity, permissions, or other systems many teams depend on.

  • Comfort with system-level thinking and holding one consistent model together across many product areas and teams.

  • A penchant for influencing without formal authority and bringing others to shared decisions.

  • Deep empathy for clinics, practitioners, and patients alike, especially in sensitive contexts.

  • Strong change communication and clear, concise writing for both clinic and internal audiences.

  • Hands-on curiosity with AI tools, from drafting and curating briefs faster to building quick prototypes that help others see what you mean.

  • A strong bias for execution and enthusiasm for working closely with a partner PM and cross-functional peers.

  • Experience with roles and permissions, identity, or a regulated environment like healthcare is a nice bonus.

If you don't meet every single qualification but are excited about this role, we'd still love to hear from you.

Compensation & Benefits

At Jane, we’re committed to paying fairly, clearly, and above all, paying for growth. This role has an annual salary range of $94,000 to $141,000. While that is a large range, it is intentional. It reflects the full growth journey someone might take in the role, from developing skills early on to becoming highly proficient and ultimately achieving excellence.

Most new hires join at the accomplished stage, which for this role represents an annual salary of $111,700. A starting salary below this typically indicates a candidate with strong potential who is still developing key skills. Salaries above this usually apply to existing team members who have made a significant impact and bring deep Jane-specific knowledge.

We believe in paying for growth. You’ll have regular career development conversations with your manager and your compensation will grow as you gain experience and contribute meaningfully to our mission.

Paying clearly is one of our compensation fundamentals. Watch this short video to learn how our salary bands are set. You’re also encouraged to ask questions about compensation at any point during the interview process.

Jane takes job scams and candidate fraud seriously. Jane will only contact you from an @jane.app email address. We'll never contact you from a personal email, ask for payment, or request purchases during the hiring process. If something doesn't seem right, please reach out to us at [email protected] before sharing any personal information.
