Upon project award, the individual will assume full Project Director accountability for project execution and successful handover.
Operating at a senior leadership level, the successful candidate will remain actively engaged in project strategy, execution planning, client management, commercial decision-making, risk management, and delivery performance throughout the project lifecycle.
This opportunity is ideally suited to a senior project leader who combines strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and stakeholder leadership with a proven record of delivering major projects in highly regulated environments.
Responsibilities:
Project Leadership
- Provide overall accountability for project safety, scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and commercial performance.
- Establish the project governance structure, strategy, execution framework, and delivery model.
- Lead an integrated organization spanning engineering, procurement, project controls, construction, commissioning, commercial, and operational readiness functions.
- Build, develop, and lead high-performing project teams with clear accountability and effective decision-making.
- Drive timely issue resolution and stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain leadership oversight from project development through closeout and operational handover.
Project Delivery and Execution
- Lead the project through development, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
- Establish and implement project execution plans, contracting strategies, procurement approaches, and delivery roadmaps.
- Ensure effective integration across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness activities.
- Lead construction management and commissioning leadership teams to enable safe, predictable, and successful execution.
- Resolve major project, stakeholder, commercial, and execution challenges.
- Drive successful transitions between project phases while maintaining continuity of leadership, strategy, and delivery objectives.
Client, Stakeholder and Business Leadership
- Serve as the senior leadership interface with the client, strategic partners, regulators, contractors, and key stakeholders.
- Build trusted relationships through transparency, collaboration, and delivery excellence.
- Lead governance reviews, strategic discussions, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Support pursuit planning, capture activities, proposal development, and client engagement during the pre-award phase.
- Provide project delivery expertise during pursuits, including project strategy, execution planning, risk reviews, organizational planning, and delivery readiness.
- Represent Worley as a trusted advisor and strategic partner throughout the project lifecycle.
Commercial, Risk and Project Controls
- Maintain oversight of project financial performance, forecasting, change management, and commercial outcomes.
- Lead project risk and opportunity management activities.
- Support contract negotiations, commercial strategy development, and governance reviews.
- Ensure robust project controls, reporting, and performance management processes are maintained.
- Drive accountability across scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and commercial performance.
Safety, Quality and Regulatory Compliance
- Champion a strong safety culture and commitment to operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, quality, security, and governance requirements.
- Promote disciplined project execution, risk management, configuration management, and quality assurance practices.
- Foster a culture aligned with nuclear safety principles, continuous improvement, and delivery excellence.
