The Opportunity

Build the Future with Us

Bring your project engineering expertise to complex natural gas infrastructure projects where technical leadership, strong client relationships, and practical decision-making make a measurable difference. As a Senior Project Engineer, you’ll help guide natural gas compressor station projects from conceptual and FEED phases through detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning, while connecting multidisciplinary teams and turning project priorities into successful outcomes.

Your Impact

  • Lead multidisciplinary project engineering activities for natural gas compressor station and related energy infrastructure projects, balancing quality, schedule, cost, constructability, and technical performance.
  • Develop and review key engineering deliverables, including P&IDs, PFDs, Line Lists, Tie-In Lists, Equipment Lists, valve lists, specifications, calculations, datasheets, and engineering registers.
  • Coordinate 3D model reviews, HAZOPs, constructability reviews, and interfaces across process, piping, mechanical, civil/structural, electrical, instrumentation, and controls disciplines.
  • Build effective client relationships as a key day-to-day engineering contact, communicating project status, technical challenges, risks, recommendations, decisions, and actions clearly.
  • Drive resolution of technical and interdisciplinary issues with equipment vendors, package suppliers, fabricators, construction teams, clients, and internal engineering teams.
  • Support Project Managers in managing engineering scope, schedules, budgets, risks, changes, project controls, procurement activities, technical bid evaluations, and project commitments.
  • Guide projects through construction and commissioning by supporting technical queries, field design changes, vendor coordination, and resolution of site issues while maintaining engineering quality and constructability.
  • Mentor junior engineers and EITs, sharing practical project engineering knowledge while remaining actively involved in detailed engineering and strengthening the broader Project Engineering team.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or another relevant engineering discipline.
  • Registered P.Eng. with APEGA, or eligible for registration in Alberta.
  • 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in the energy industry, preferably within an EPC/EPCM or consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated Project Engineering experience with natural gas compressor stations, gas processing facilities, pipeline facilities, or similar energy infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of natural gas compressor station design and operation, including compressor packages and associated process, mechanical, piping, utility, control, and safety systems.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian natural gas facility codes, standards, and regulatory requirements, including CSA Z662, ASME B31.3, and applicable Alberta regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated client-facing experience facilitating design reviews and technical meetings, managing expectations, communicating engineering recommendations, and building trusted working relationships.
  • Practical understanding of project management and commercial fundamentals, including scope, schedule, cost, risk, change management, project controls, stakeholder coordination, and the project impacts of engineering decisions.
