Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Location: Markham (4x per week on-site)
Job Type: Contract (12 months to start)
Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex business and technology initiatives from planning through implementation, stabilization and transition to operations. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on delivery leader who can personally manage the integrated plan, financials, RAID, dependencies, vendors and governance while driving accountable owners to decisions and commitments. The role is accountable for integrated delivery planning, transparent financial and delivery controls, active risk and dependency management, decision-ready governance and implementation readiness. It preserves accountability with the appropriate business and technical owners while ensuring gaps, conflicts and incomplete evidence are challenged and escalated.
Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Delivery: Lead complex initiatives from initiation through release, hypercare, and BAU transition. Structure workstreams, milestones, and governance.
- RAID & Dependency Management: Own integrated RAID log, manage dependencies, drive mitigations, and execute delivery recovery plans when scope, schedule, or cost are at risk.
- Financial & Vendor Control: Maintain accurate forecasts, actuals, and variances. Manage vendor commitments and apply strict change control to scope and budget.
- Governance & Executive Communication: Produce concise, decision-ready materials for SteerCo/IRB. Transparently frame status, risks, trade-offs, and recommendations.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate Sponsors, Product, Tech/Engineering, Finance, QE, Change, and Operations across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid models.
- Boundaries: Establishes plans, recommends actions, and challenges incomplete evidence; does not independently approve funding, architecture exceptions, or final go-live without explicit delegation.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience as a Project Manager leading complex, cross-functional business and tech transformations through testing, go-live, and operational readiness.
- Deep experience in Agile/Waterfall/hybrid models, third-party vendor management, and financial control.
- Proven ability to bring structure to ambiguity, influence senior stakeholders without formal authority, frame executive decisions, and drive measurable results.
- Minimum of 2 large-scale transformational initiatives that youve previously led.
- Customer, field-service, digital, ERP, enterprise platform, integration, or automation experience highly desirable.
- PMP/Agile certifications preferred.
