Job description

Senior Project Manager – Bridge Construction

Lower Mainland, BC | Major Infrastructure Projects

Canterra Group has been engaged to recruit an experienced Senior Project Manager for a leading heavy civil contractor in the Lower Mainland.

This is a senior opportunity for a construction professional with significant bridge and heavy civil project experience who wants to take a leadership role delivering complex infrastructure projects in British Columbia.

Our client has an established presence in the BC infrastructure market and is looking for a Senior Project Manager who can provide leadership across all aspects of project delivery—from preconstruction and planning through execution, commercial management and closeout.

The Opportunity

As Senior Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of major bridge and heavy civil projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading complex bridge and heavy civil construction projects
  • Developing project execution strategies, schedules and budgets
  • Managing project teams, subcontractors and key stakeholders
  • Overseeing project cost control, forecasting and financial performance
  • Managing contracts, change orders, claims and commercial issues
  • Working closely with owners, consultants and project partners
  • Identifying and managing project risks
  • Supporting procurement and subcontractor negotiations
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to Project Managers, Project Coordinators and site teams
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably and to the required quality standards

Requirements

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with accomplished Project Managers and Senior Project Managers who have delivered bridge construction projects in British Columbia or comparable Canadian markets.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Significant Project Management experience within heavy civil construction
  • Direct experience delivering bridge construction projects
  • Strong understanding of concrete structures and complex civil construction
  • Experience managing large project teams and subcontractors
  • Strong commercial, contractual and cost-management capabilities
  • Experience dealing directly with owners, consultants and other project stakeholders
  • A track record of successfully delivering complex infrastructure projects
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

Experience working on projects for BC transportation authorities, municipalities or other major public infrastructure owners would be particularly relevant.

Benefits

Why Consider the Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to join an established heavy civil organization with the resources and project pipeline to deliver significant infrastructure work in British Columbia.

For someone who has developed a strong track record in bridge construction, the position provides the opportunity to take on larger projects, greater leadership responsibility and increased influence over project execution and commercial performance.

We're equally interested in speaking with established Senior Project Managers and high-performing Project Managers who are ready to take the next step in their careers.

If you're successful where you are but interested in understanding what another senior-level opportunity in the BC infrastructure market could offer, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.

To start the conversation, send your resume and project list to [email protected]
