Job description

Our Technology team wakes up every day with one goal in mind - connecting Canadians to the people and things that matter most. Together, we are proud to support 30 million Canadians each month through managing a robust portfolio that champions leading-edge technology. We drive large-scale, complex, and high-visibility technology projects and programs that shape the future of technology in Canada and expand connectivity from coast to coast. If you are interested in being a part of this, consider applying for the following opportunity:

Who we're looking for:

As Senior Technical Delivery Manager, you will build and lead high-performance engineering teams that deliver and run our Web, Services, Middleware and Cloud Native platforms. You will own the full lifecycle, from strategy and architecture through delivery and day-to-day operations, using modern technologies such as React, Angular, Node.js, Java/Spring Boot and .NET, deployed on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud with Kubernetes and serverless services.

This is a leadership role with two equal mandates: drive innovation at the core of how we build, and achieve operational excellence in how we run. You will set engineering direction, grow managers and senior engineers, and deliver industry-standard, secure and scalable solutions that let our customers self-serve. You will partner with senior leadership to align technology investment with business outcomes.

What you'll do:

  • Build, lead and grow high-performance delivery teams, including managers and technical leads.
  • Own the strategy and roadmap for Web, Services, Middleware and Cloud Native platforms.
  • Drive innovation by evaluating emerging technologies and scaling proven ideas into production.
Deliver large programs end to end, on time, on budget and against clear KPIs.
  • Oversee architecture, integration and code quality to industry standards, including APIs, microservices and GraphQL.
  • Lead cloud-native build and migration, with strong DevOps, automation and cost control.
  • Embed secure authentication and SSO across applications, working with security and identity teams.
  • Own operational excellence: availability, SLOs, incident management, monitoring and root cause analysis.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Data, Security and Operations, and present strategy and trade-offs to senior leadership.

What you need to succeed

  • Cloud experience (required): hands-on depth with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP), including PaaS, containers and Kubernetes, serverless and cloud-native architecture patterns.
  • Proven record of building and leading high-performance engineering teams, including managing managers, in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong expertise across web application frameworks (React, Angular or Vue on the frontend; Node.js, Java/Spring Boot on the backend), backend services and APIs, microservices and middleware.
  • Solid knowledge of integration and middleware technologies: API gateways, messaging and event streaming, ESB and iPaaS.
  • Deep understanding of industry standards for connecting domain services, microservices and experience-layer services such as GraphQL and REST.
  • Mature DevOps and SRE practice: CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, SLOs and incident management.
  • Strong leadership in Agile delivery at scale, with a track record of shipping quickly without compromising quality or stability.
  • Data-driven, KPI-focused approach, using tools such as 5-why analysis, A/B testing and performance benchmarking.
  • Ability to balance innovation with operational stability, cost and risk.
  • Excellent communication, with the ability to influence senior leaders and translate complex engineering topics into business value.
  • Curiosity, creativity and a bias for action when tackling complex problems.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of authentication and identity platforms, such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Ping Identity, ForgeRock or Auth0.
  • Experience implementing SSO and identity federation using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and SAML.
  • Familiarity with customer identity (CIAM), MFA and zero-trust security models.
  • Relevant certifications, such as a cloud architect certification, Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD) or SAFe.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering and technical delivery, including 5+ years leading engineering teams and 3+ years managing managers or multiple squads.
  • Proven delivery of web, services, middleware and cloud-native solutions at enterprise scale.
  • A track record of running production platforms with measurable gains in reliability, performance and cost.
  • A passion for digital transformation and a demonstrated ability to deliver innovative solutions that improve customer experience.
