Customers run mission-critical workloads on it, from startups to the largest enterprises, across EC2, Fargate, and ECS Managed Instances. We're hiring an SDM to lead a team of software engineers who build and operate a core part of ECS. You will own a large-scale distributed system and set the technical direction for it. Drive operational excellence. Own availability, latency, and security targets and the on-call health of the team. Lead COE reviews and make sure the fixes ship.
Work backwards from customers. Write and review PRFAQs and design docs, prioritize with product management, and deliver on commitments.
Plan and manage delivery across multiple quarters. Balance new features, tech debt, scale, and operational work.
Raise engineering standards: testing, deployment safety, observability, and use of AI-assisted development to speed up the team.
