As a Tax Analyst within the TaxCycle by Xero product development team, you will shape software tools that simplify tax preparation for Canadian professionals. You will research and interpret federal and provincial tax legislation changes, converting complex legislative updates and customer requests into intuitive tax forms and accurate software calculations.

In this role, you will hold stewardship over an income tax filing module within TaxCycle, taking it from legislative analysis through to annual government certification. They connect daily through structured agile rituals to keep development aligned with long-term strategy and user needs.

Initially, you will focus on

  • Analysing Canadian federal and provincial income tax legislation changes to update calculations and form designs directly within the software.

  • Collaborating with development and quality assurance teams to ensure full compliance with government income tax filing certification standards.

  • Translating accounting partner needs and tax season feedback into prioritised user stories and product backlog items.

  • Supporting client escalation queries and producing clear technical release notes to guide users through legislative changes.

  • You bring clear communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legislative details in simple terms for client guidance and internal teams.
