About Us

At Atlantic Packaging, every box tells a story and yours begins here. As a proudly Canadian-owned company with over 80 years of excellence in the corrugated packaging industry, with operations across Ontario, Quebec and the United States, we're committed to sustainability, customer excellence and community impact. Since 1945, we've supported local jobs and built a legacy of trust with our customers and team members. At Atlantic, your ideas matter, your growth is supported and your work makes a real impact.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced corrugated packaging professional to join our team as a Technical Services Representative.

This is a hands-on role that combines corrugated manufacturing expertise, technical problem-solving, customer support and operational knowledge. The successful candidate will work closely with customers and Atlantic's Sales, Manufacturing, Quality and Design teams to resolve technical and production challenges, improve product performance and support the successful introduction of new products and processes.

We're looking for someone who understands the corrugated business from an operations and manufacturing perspective. Your background may include Plant Management, Production Management, Operations, Plant or Production Supervision, or Technical Services within the corrugated packaging industry.

Experience in a sheet plant or integrated corrugated operation is required.

This role will be based in the Ingersoll, Ontario area and requires regular travel to customer and Atlantic locations.

What You'll Do

Customer & Technical Support

  • Conduct regular customer visits to understand their operations, review product performance, address concerns and strengthen working relationships.
  • Provide hands-on technical support during customer trials, start-ups and problem-resolution activities.
  • Assess customer processes, equipment, carton quality and packaging requirements.
  • Troubleshoot technical and manufacturing issues and work with customers to identify practical solutions.
  • Support customer transitions to Atlantic from competitors and help ensure a smooth implementation.
  • Provide technical input on equipment, carton design, converting processes and packaging requirements.
  • Act as a technical resource and ambassador for Atlantic with existing customers and support opportunities for future business.

Corrugated Manufacturing & Operations

  • Apply your knowledge of corrugating, converting and carton manufacturing to determine the optimal manufacturing approach for customer requirements.
  • Work with Sales, Operations, Quality and Design to ensure customer specifications and requirements align with Atlantic's manufacturing capabilities.
  • Coordinate design improvements and manufacturing solutions with internal teams.
  • Support customers transitioning to automated or replacement equipment through needs assessment, equipment selection input, trial coordination and start-up support.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process-related issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Work with steel die suppliers and internal teams on best practices and standard requirements for Atlantic manufacturing.
  • Coach employees and provide guidance on best practices when dealing with challenging operational requirements.
  • Identify and participate in cost-saving and continuous-improvement opportunities for customers and Atlantic operations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Consult with Manufacturing, Quality, Design and Sales teams to analyze technical issues and determine the best solution.
  • Coordinate and follow through on customer projects that transition to Atlantic.
  • Document customer visits, findings and recommendations in Technical Service Reports and communicate follow-up requirements to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Support trials, new product introductions and process improvements through to successful implementation.
  • Stay current with developments in corrugated packaging, equipment, converting processes and industry practices.
  • Participate in special projects and other initiatives as assigned.

What You Bring

Required

  • Experience in the corrugated packaging industry is required.
  • Experience in a sheet plant or integrated corrugated operation is required.
  • Strong understanding of corrugating, converting, carton manufacturing and packaging performance requirements.
  • Hands-on understanding of plant, production or manufacturing operations.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into practical manufacturing solutions.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Operations, Quality, Sales and Design teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and test data.
  • Proficiency with standard business software and reporting systems.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to customer and Atlantic locations.

Experience That Would Be an Asset

  • Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager
  • Production Manager or Operations Manager
  • Plant Supervisor or Production Supervisor

Experience leading teams is an asset, but direct people-management experience is not required if you have strong hands-on corrugated manufacturing knowledge and the ability to work effectively with customers and internal teams.

What We Offer

  • Comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage (dependents included)
  • Teamwork-focused culture with sustainability initiatives and social events
  • A culture of appreciation through a point-based recognition program
  • Opportunities for advancement and internal movement
  • Education assistance for continuous skill development
