You’ll join our responsive and supportive software team, which builds the applications our customers use to control robotics and motion control devices. You’ll work closely with our UX/UI designer, who will mentor you and guide your work, and alongside the developers who turn designs into shipped software. It’s a caring and collaborative team where the culture is to speak freely, and where design is part of the conversation from the start. You’ll also get to see how software, electronics, and firmware come together in a real product.
Zaber makes cutting-edge, precision robotics for industry-leading customers across a range of sectors, including photonics, biotechnology, and industrial automation. Through your work on our design system and software, you’ll help make specialized, complex tasks easier for the scientists and engineers who use our products every day.

- Audit the existing Style Guide along the way and flag inconsistencies, gaps, or outdated patterns.
- Once the migration is complete, design a small feature (or a few, depending on the complexity) for our customer-facing software, from early sketches to high-fidelity prototypes.
- Work with developers to hand off production-ready specs and assets, and get a hands-on look at how design work becomes shipped software.
UX/UI Designer Skills
- Figma, including components, variants, auto layout, and styles/variables.
- Adobe XD (at least some knowledge).
- An understanding of design systems and why consistency matters.
- A strong eye for detail and the patience for careful, systematic work.
- Comfort working independently, asking questions, and taking feedback.
- Enrolled in a University degree program.
