Build Relationships. Uncover Opportunities. Shape Our Future.
Great acquisitions begin with great relationships.
At Decisive Dividend Corporation (DDC), we believe in acquiring exceptional businesses, preserving what makes them successful, and investing in their long-term growth.
Our Buy, Build & Hold strategy is built on a simple philosophy: acquire great businesses, support strong leadership teams, and create lasting value.
As we continue to grow our portfolio of manufacturing businesses, we're looking for an entrepreneurial and relationship-driven Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions who can help shape the next chapter of our growth.
This is an opportunity for someone who loves the pursuit of a deal just as much as getting it across the finish line.
The Opportunity
We're looking for more than someone who can evaluate and execute acquisitions. We want someone who can find opportunities others haven't, build relationships that open doors, and turn conversations into successful partnerships.
As our Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions, you'll play a key role in driving DDC's acquisition strategy by identifying promising businesses, connecting with entrepreneurs and business owners, and developing opportunities that align with our long-term vision.
You'll have the opportunity to work directly with executive leadership, influence strategic decisions, and take ownership of acquisition opportunities from the first conversation through closing.
Whether you're connecting with a founder considering their next chapter, building relationships with industry advisors, or evaluating a potential acquisition, your ability to recognize opportunity and build trust will be central to your success.
What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to shape DDC's growth by discovering exceptional businesses, building meaningful relationships, and turning opportunities into successful acquisitions. You'll be involved in every stage of the acquisition journey, with the autonomy to pursue opportunities and the support of an experienced executive team.
Discover Opportunities & Build Relationships
- Take the lead in identifying and pursuing acquisition opportunities that align with DDC's long-term growth strategy.
- Build trusted relationships with business owners, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and M&A professionals, creating opportunities that extend beyond traditional deal channels.
- Leverage your network, market knowledge, and proactive outreach to develop a strong and sustainable acquisition pipeline.
- Engage directly with founders and business owners, understanding their goals and positioning DDC as a trusted partner for the next chapter of their business.
- Explore new industries, markets, and connections to uncover opportunities that others may overlook.
Turn Opportunities into Successful Acquisitions
- Take ownership of acquisition opportunities from the first conversation through evaluation, negotiation, due diligence, and closing.
- Evaluate potential acquisitions through financial analysis, business valuation, market insights, and an understanding of what drives long-term value.
- Develop compelling investment recommendations and share your insights directly with executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Lead negotiations and help structure transactions that create lasting value for DDC and the business owners we partner with.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to navigate complex transactions and bring opportunities across the finish line.
Help Shape Our Future Growth
- Partner closely with executive leadership to influence acquisition priorities and identify new avenues for growth.
- Bring fresh perspectives and ideas to continuously strengthen DDC's acquisition strategy and approach.
- Identify opportunities to create value across our growing portfolio of manufacturing businesses.
- Support successful ownership transitions, helping preserve the entrepreneurial spirit and legacy of the businesses we acquire.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who combines the curiosity and drive of a business developer with the financial and strategic expertise of an experienced M&A professional.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- A track record of finding deals: Demonstrated success personally identifying, sourcing, and developing acquisition opportunities, including opportunities generated through direct outreach and relationships.
- A strong professional network: Established connections with business owners, entrepreneurs, brokers, investment bankers, and other deal professionals, along with the ability to continuously expand that network.
- Transaction experience: 6–10 years or more of relevant experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate development, private equity, investment banking, or a related field.
- Financial expertise: Strong capabilities in business valuation, financial modelling, investment analysis, due diligence, and transaction structuring.
- Commercial instincts: The ability to recognize a great business, understand what makes it successful, and identify opportunities for future growth.
- Relationship-building skills: A natural ability to connect with entrepreneurs, establish credibility, and build trust over time.
- Ownership and initiative: A self-directed, results-oriented approach with the confidence to pursue opportunities and see them through.
- Strategic communication: The ability to translate complex financial and business information into clear recommendations for senior leadership and the Board.
Experience working with founder-owned or family-owned businesses, particularly in the small to mid-market segment, would be especially valuable. Exposure to manufacturing or industrial businesses is an asset.
