Job description

Bilingual Service Maintenance Advisor (French and English Required)

Mississauga, ON; Calgary, AB; or Brossard, QC | In office | Full time | $65,000 to $80,000 a year

Introduction

Our client, an established North American fleet management company, is hiring a steady, reliable Bilingual Service Maintenance Advisor for an in-office seat in Mississauga, Calgary, or Brossard. French and English are both required. About 60% of the work is in French by phone, email, and approvals. Compensation for bilingual candidates is in the $65,000 to $80,000 range based on experience, with standard benefits after 90 days, 17 days of PTO, and an employer RRSP match.

This role suits a licensed mechanic who wants to move out of the shop into a structured desk job, using mechanical judgment every day to authorize fleet repairs. You will join a maintenance-advisor team that is growing from 4 people toward 6.

What You'll Do

You will be the person auto shops call when a fleet vehicle needs maintenance approval. You will review quotes for accurate pricing, parts, and labour hours, negotiate with shops when needed, approve work orders so technicians can start, and escalate to corporate clients when an approval needs a higher look. Bilingual advisors handle a heavier French call load, around 25 calls a day, plus about 50 portal approvals a day. The work runs across 2 to 3 screens and several software systems at once.

Responsibilities

  • Take inbound calls from auto shops servicing fleet vehicles, with a higher share of French calls for bilingual advisors
  • Handle maintenance approval requests through the online portal, around 50 per day
  • Approve work orders before shop technicians start on a vehicle, in most cases
  • Check quotes for accurate pricing, parts, and labour hours, and negotiate with shops when needed
  • Escalate approval requests to corporate clients when required, with clear verbal and written communication
  • Work with 2 to 3 screens and several software systems at the same time
  • Cover a rotating Saturday shift about once every 4 to 5 weeks (about 4 hours, can be done from home)

Qualifications

  • Spoken and written French and English for daily phone, email, and approval work (about 60% French)
  • Licensed mechanic preferred, with experience on medium-duty fleet vehicles (SUV through F550 or GM5500 class)
  • Strong computer skills, including working across several software systems and 2 to 3 screens at once
  • Solid verbal and written communication with shops and corporate clients
  • Able to pass a full background check (credit, criminal, education, and employment)
  • Comfortable with call-centre volume and a structured weekday schedule

Benefits

  • Salary of $65,000 to $80,000 a year based on experience (bilingual candidates more in the $80,000 range)
  • Standard benefits after 90 days
  • 17 days of PTO
  • RRSP plan with employer match of $0.75 per employee dollar, up to 6% of employee contributions
  • Full-time 40-hour week with a 30-minute lunch; weekday shifts by location (Mississauga and Brossard typically 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Calgary 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
  • Saturday rotation about once every 4 to 5 weeks, remote-friendly

Why Work with Us

This is a stable, permanent desk role with an established fleet management company. You keep the mechanical judgment you built in the shop, on a growing team with predictable weekday hours, bilingual pay, solid PTO, and an RRSP match. If you want a structured seat rather than life under a vehicle, this is built for that move.
