McMan Calgary
Internal/External
Meaningful work. Lasting impact.
At McMan Calgary & Area, connection is at the centre of everything we do. Each year, we support more than 5,000 children, youth, adults and families facing complex challenges, including mental health concerns, addiction, homelessness, poverty and disability. We believe every person has deep and lasting worth, and we see people for who they are, not for what they're facing.
Our work supports people to rebuild and strengthen connections to self, peers, family, community, culture and the land. Belonging, identity and wellbeing grow through relationships because people need people. Professional support is there for a season or a reason, not a lifetime. We create the conditions; people build the lives they want for themselves.
The Role
If you are passionate about strengthening housing stability, building community and supporting people to thrive, we’d like to talk to you about this opportunity at Hope Heights. Hope Heights is a 35-unit intergenerational living space providing affordable housing for seniors, young adults and single mothers, with a focus on Indigenous housing. As Case Manager, you will provide light-touch case management, facilitate resident programming and help create connections that reduce isolation, strengthen cultural identity, and support long-term safety and stability.
You will connect tenants with community resources; support digital literacy, life-skills and financial empowerment; and, in collaboration with McMan’s Reconciliation Lead, plan Indigenous cultural activities and community-building events. You will also support tenant stability by coordinating referrals for vacant units, community partnerships, move-in and move-out processes, unit inspections and maintenance needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing Tenant Support: Delivering personalized, light-touch case management, advocacy, resource navigation and conflict-resolution support that promotes housing stability and helps prevent eviction.
- Building Community Connections: Planning and facilitating programming and events that reduce isolation and strengthen intergenerational relationships among residents.
- Supporting Cultural Connections: Collaborating with the Reconciliation Lead and building relationships with First Nations, Inuit and Métis Elders and Knowledge Keepers to support cultural activities and meaningful community connections.
- Building Skills and Independence: Facilitating digital literacy, life-skills and financial empowerment opportunities that increase confidence and self-efficacy.
- Coordinating Housing Processes: Supporting referrals for vacant units, community partnerships, move-in and move-out processes, unit inspections and coordination of maintenance needs.
- Supporting Building Operations: Assisting the Program Supervisor with day-to-day building management and responding to resident and programming needs.
- Maintaining Reporting and Documentation: Keeping accurate, current case notes, assessments, reports and file documentation in accordance with program and organizational standards.
- Upholding Core Values and Service Standards: Ensuring daily work, decisions and interactions reflect McMan’s five core values—Commitment, Trust, Empathy, Respect and Genuineness—and align with our service delivery framework.

- Strong writing, organization, program planning, facilitation and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in Indigenous histories, cultures and community relationships
- Ability to work collaboratively with residents, community partners, Elders and Knowledge Keepers
- Flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends, to meet programming needs
