Job description

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Prosperity Workforce Solutions is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a leading organization in the medical aviation industry. Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Dispatch Manager to join their operations team. This is a dynamic, high-responsibility role for a skilled clinical professional who thrives in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.

Reporting to the Director of Medical Operations, the Clinical Dispatch Manager is the central hub for coordinating patient transport logistics — including emergent and interfacility movements. This individual will triage patients, prioritize transport needs, and ensure the right clinical asset is deployed for every situation.

Please note: our client's identity is held in strict confidence as part of this recruitment process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Triage and prioritize patient transport needs, directing appropriate aircraft and clinical crew for each movement
  • Provide leadership and direction to all clinical personnel in partnership with Medical Managers and Online Medical Control (OLMC)
  • Facilitate conference calls for clinical consults and liaise with all stakeholders including Online Medical Control
  • Collaborate with clients and flight operations to pair aircraft assets with the most suitable clinical crew
  • Delegate tasks to frontline staff to ensure efficient use of duty days
  • Attend daily operational meetings to maintain open communication within the Operational Control department
  • Maintain working knowledge of electronic patient care record (ePCR) software to support frontline staff
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across all contractual medevac operations
  • Enforce Health and Safety protocols in all workplace environments
  • Perform training needs analysis through chart audits and collaborate with the education team on learning requirements
  • Monitor confidential personal health information in compliance with privacy protocols
  • Ensure all incident reports, patient complaints, and unusual occurrences are reported in collaboration with Supervisors, Managers, and the company SMS program
  • Maintain and backfill AMC personnel schedules; coordinate OLMC schedule submissions with the Medical Director
  • Prepare and organize monthly reports, statistics, and all departmental records as required
  • Manage medevac operations within defined budget parameters
  • Protect patients and staff by interpreting infection-control policies and enforcing medication and controlled substance procedures
  • Uphold professional and technical knowledge through ongoing education, publications, and professional networks

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Active registration with CRNM (College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba) as a Nurse, CPMB (College of Paramedics of Manitoba) as an Advanced Care Paramedic, or MARRT (Manitoba Association of Registered Respiratory Therapists) as a Respiratory Therapist
  • University degree in Nursing or Respiratory Therapy, or Advanced Care Paramedic Certificate — or equivalent education and experience
  • Ability to obtain Instructor Certification in BCLS, First Aid, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, and CAMATA as required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Strong leadership skills with progressive management experience
  • Valid Canadian driver's license
  • Valid Canadian passport
  • Ability to apply for and obtain a RAIC (Restricted Area Identity Card) pass
  • Aboriginal Awareness and/or Cultural Diversity training

Considered Assets:

  • Previous experience in the medical aviation industry
  • Prior management or supervisory experience in a clinical setting

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

The ideal candidate will be a confident, self-directed professional who brings the following to the team:

  • Works independently with strong initiative and resourcefulness
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Accountable, adaptable, and a natural self-starter
  • Detail-oriented with strong planning and organizational abilities
  • Operationally savvy — thrives in environments of continuous improvement and change
  • Strong listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated time management skills in high-pressure settings
