Job description

About Omicron

Omicron is one of Western Canada’s largest integrated development, design, and construction firms — uniting real estate strategists, architects, interior designers, engineers, and builders as One Omicron. We believe that when all disciplines work together from day one, we deliver a better way of creating buildings: faster decisions, fewer handoffs, stronger outcomes, and a far better experience for clients and partners.

Founded in 1998 on the belief that curiosity, courage, respect, and connection drive exceptional work, Omicron continues to challenge convention and innovate within an industry known for outdated processes. Our tech‑forward mindset, collaborative model, and entrepreneurial culture empower our teams to solve complex problems, push boundaries, and deliver meaningful impact in the communities where we work.

We spark curiosity. We show courage. We value respect. We create connections. And above all — We are One Omicron.

The Opportunity & Team

Omicron is hiring a Construction Manager to support our expanding portfolio of commercial, residential, institutional, industrial, and renewals projects, and strengthen our integrated design–build delivery model. This role will manage day‑to‑day project activities and act as the primary point of contact for clients on assigned projects, with accountability for coordination, cost tracking, and communication.

You’ll join the Construction team reporting to the Vice President, Construction, and work closely with project managers, architects, interior designers, engineers, consultants, subtrades and client representatives. The team is known for technical depth, cross‑disciplinary collaboration, and you’ll contribute to work that accelerates decision‑making, deepens alignment across disciplines, and elevates project quality from concept to completion.

What You’ll Do

  • Project Delivery
    • Deliver projects that meet or exceed budget, schedule, and target margins
    • Lead detailed construction planning, including schedule development, sequencing, and milestone tracking
    • Drive proactive risk management to prevent cost overruns and delays
  • Project Budget Management
    • Own project budgets, forecasts, cost controls, and margin performance
    • Lead the bid process, subcontractor procurement, and contract execution
    • Review and act on cost reports, forecasts, and project financials to maintain control
  • Leadership & Team Alignment
    • Lead, coach, and align project teams (Superintendents, Coordinators, consultants, and trades)
    • Foster accountability, performance, and a solutions-first mindset across teams
    • Drive collaboration across design, pre-construction, and construction functions
  • Execution Excellence
    • Ensure delivery meets or exceeds design intent, constructability, and client expectations
    • Oversee execution to achieve high standards in fit, finish, and overall quality
    • Continuously improve processes to reduce rework and optimize delivery
  • Client Management
    • Act as the primary point of accountability for client satisfaction
    • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
    • Provide transparent, proactive reporting and manage expectations effectively
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Champion a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all safety regulations
    • Ensure all contractual, regulatory, and deficiency obligations are resolved post-completion

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience
    • 5 – 10+ years of experience with a design-builder, general contractor, sub-contractor and/or owner’s representative
    • Proven track record of delivering commercial, institutional, or mixed- used projects
    • Experience on both site and project management functions

  • Education
    • Working towards or has a degree in Engineering, Project Management or Architecture
    • Gold Seal Intern or Gold Seal Certified
    • PQS designation, a trade certification, or a business degree considered an asset

  • Technical
    • Excellent capability with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Strong knowledge of:
      • Construction scheduling (MS Project or equivalent)
      • Estimating, take-offs, and cost control
      • Building codes, contracts, and construction law
    • Experience with Timberline project management is an asset

  • Collaboration
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Excellent problem-solving, negotiation and ability to influence across disciplines

If your experience looks different but you believe you can excel, we encourage you to still apply!

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • One Omicron Culture — We’re a tight‑knit, people‑centered community that values connection, trust, and showing up for one another. You’ll experience this through our team-building events, cross‑disciplinary collaboration, community involvement, and our signature annual summer social. We build meaningful relationships here and take pride in being a team that lifts each other up.
  • Benefits & Well-Being — Enjoy extended health and dental coverage, a Health Care Spending Account, an Employee Assistance Program through TELUS Health, and a fitness program. Our benefits support your physical and mental well‑being.
  • Growth & Development — We invest in continuous learning because shared knowledge multiplies impact. You’ll receive 2 paid Education Days each year for external courses, conferences, or webinars, plus an Education Budget that supports job‑related learning such as technical training, leadership development, or accredited designation fees. We also host regular Lunch & Learns that help deepen collective expertise.
  • Retirement Savings & Matching — We offer a Group RRSP program with up to 3% employer matching, helping you invest in your financial future while you build a rewarding career with us.
  • Comprehensive PTO — Our paid time off program includes 2 personal days and 5 sick days annually (prorated based on start date), in addition to comprehensive vacation entitlements, giving you flexibility to rest, recharge, and handle life’s responsibilities.
  • Convenient Downtown Location — Our centrally located office puts you steps from transit, cafés, restaurants, and shops, making your workday smooth and connected.

In‑Person Work Environment

We are a full in‑office organization because our integrated design–build model thrives on in-person connections. When architects, engineers, designers, builders, and project managers collaborate face‑to‑face, we solve problems faster, make better decisions, and maintain the exceptional level of coordination our work demands.

That said, we get that life happens. If you need to work from home occasionally for personal reasons (an appointment, school drop‑off, etc.), that’s completely fine — just let your leader know. We trust our teams to manage their time responsibly while staying connected to the work and to each other.

Total Compensation

At Omicron, compensation is transparent, fair, and designed to reflect your experience, contributions, and long‑term growth.

The annual base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $135,000. This range reflects progression from learning the ropes to consistently delivering excellence. Fully established hires typically start near the midpoint; the higher end is reserved for individuals who bring deep expertise and sustained impact. Offers below midpoint reflect strong potential with room to develop.

Total compensation is more than base salary. Your package includes:

  • Annual discretionary bonus
  • Comprehensive extended health benefits
  • Group RRSP with up to 3% employer matching
  • Education Days & L&D budget
  • Fitness and wellness support
  • Personal, sick, and vacation time
  • Additional perks outlined above

Our approach ensures compensation aligns with both your current capabilities and your opportunity for future growth.

A Track Record of Excellence

We’re proud to be recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies every year since 2009, earning Platinum Club status since 2015 for our commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and long‑term value.

Our mission is simple: deliver a better way of creating buildings and contribute positively to our communities and the planet. Our entrepreneurial mindset, tech‑forward approach, and integrated model help us do exactly that - while fostering a workplace where people feel connected, supported, and empowered to grow.

Our Commitment to Inclusion & Accommodation

As a One Omicron team, we believe diverse perspectives strengthen our work and that an inclusive environment is essential to our success. We welcome people of all backgrounds, experiences, and identities. We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to supporting applicants at every stage of the hiring process.

If you need an adjustment or accommodation at any point, whether that’s extra preparation time, communication supports, or a modified interview format, we’re here to help. Simply let your People & Culture point of contact know what you need, and we’ll work with you to make it happen together.
