GROUND & AIRBORNE GEOPHYSICS - 3D IP & resistivity, MT/AMT/CSAMT, airborne AFMAG, full-tensor magnetic gradiometry
Full company description
Dias delivers solutions to geoscience challenges through the application of innovative proprietary technologies such as the DIAS32 ground resistivity and induced polarization system, the QMAGT full-tensor magnetic gradiometry (FTMG) system, and the QAMT airborne magnetotellurics system. DIAS32 is the most advanced and effective DCIP system available today. It is a fully-distributed, mesh-networked ground survey system that excels by safely delivering greater depth sensitivity and high resolution. The QMAGT and QAMT airborne systems are based on leading liquid helium SQUID sensor technology from Supracon AG of Jena, Germany. These sensors offer unrivalled sensitivity in the measurement of the full tensor magnetic gradient (FTMG) and 3 component magnetic (QAMT) measurements. The QMAGT system moves the magnetic method to a new level of imaging and interpretation. The QAMT system provides greater depth and clarity in resistivity imaging using natural sources. At Dias, health, safety and environment are front of mind. We have developed several new technologies to enhance the safety of our field operations. These include a lightning shunt, current lockout, and a transmitter. We look forward to carrying out surveys using our leading technologies towards the success of your programs.

At Dias, our purpose is to create new technologies to image the earth and locate the resources that the world needs. We are passionate about technology, but nothing is more important than keeping our people safe and healthy.
Dias is a world leader in deploying solutions to help explore, map, and protect the subsurface. We operate globally from our home in Saskatoon with Canadian offices in Toronto and Vancouver, and international offices in Australia, Mexico, and Chile. We are currently looking for a skilled and dedicated individual to grow our team and ensure that Dias is a great place to work.
We’re looking for a Controller who will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function for Dias Canada. This is a hands-on role for someone who can produce reliable financial information, understand what is happening in the business, and act when the numbers or processes do not make sense.
You’ll work closely with the CFO, the finance team, project managers and operations. We need someone who is comfortable asking questions, following issues through to resolution and improving how work gets done, not simply reporting the results after the fact.
What you’ll own
- Financial close and reporting: Lead the month-end and year-end close, maintain the integrity of the general ledger, and prepare timely financial and management reporting.
- Project financial performance: Work with project managers and operations to understand costs, revenue, work in progress, margins and variances. Identify issues early and turn the analysis into useful action.
- Billing and working capital: Ensure project work is invoiced accurately and in line with contracts and milestones. Monitor receivables, cash flow and items that need follow-up.
- Controls and compliance: Maintain sound accounting processes, support the annual external review, and ensure financial records and required filings are complete and accurate.
- Finance operations and improvement: Provide direction and support across accounting activities. Find recurring problems, address their causes and build practical tools or processes that give the business better visibility.
What you bring
- Substantial hands-on accounting experience, including ownership of financial close and reporting.
- Strong judgement in project accounting, cost analysis, revenue recognition and contract-based billing.
- The ability to work directly with operational teams, challenge assumptions constructively and explain financial issues clearly.
- Experience improving processes, not just working within them.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting systems. QuickBooks experience is useful.
- An accounting or finance degree; a CPA designation or progress towards one is preferred.
