Together, we are proud to support 30 million Canadians each month through managing a robust portfolio that champions leading-edge technology. We drive large-scale, complex, and high-visibility technology projects and programs that shape the future of technology in Canada and expand connectivity from coast to coast. If you are interested in being a part of this, consider applying for the following opportunity:
Who we're looking for:
As a Mobile Applications Developer, you will join a squad of engineers designing, building and running our iOS and Android applications. You will spend most of your time hands-on in code, using Swift and SwiftUI on iOS, Kotlin and Jetpack Compose on Android, and cross-platform frameworks such as Flutter, React Native or Kotlin Multiplatform where they fit. You will turn requirements into secure, performant, high-quality mobile experiences, and help the team release frequently while keeping our apps stable for customers.
What you'll do:
- Design, build and test features for native iOS and Android applications, including reusable UI components and shared modules.
- Follow the team's mobile architecture (such as MVVM or Clean Architecture) and help improve it over time.
- Integrate apps with backend APIs, GraphQL layers and cloud services, working closely with web and services teams.
- Write clean, maintainable code that follows team standards, and take part in code and design reviews.
- Write unit and UI tests, and contribute to mobile CI/CD pipelines and releases through the App Store and Google Play.
- Implement secure authentication, biometrics, secure storage and SSO, following security guidelines.
- Support production: investigate crashes and defects, fix issues and help tune app performance.
- Explore new platform features and tools, and share what you learn with the team.
- Work with Product, Design and QA to understand requirements and estimate your work.
What you need to succeed:
- Native mobile experience (required): hands-on work building and shipping iOS (Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit) and/or Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK) applications, with willingness to work across both.
- Good understanding of the mobile app lifecycle, memory management, concurrency (such as Swift Concurrency and Kotlin Coroutines) and offline support.
- Experience consuming REST and GraphQL APIs, push notifications, deep linking and local data storage (such as Core Data, Room or SQLite).
- Familiarity with dependency management (such as Swift Package Manager and Gradle) and modular app structure.
- Practical skills with Git, CI/CD (such as Fastlane, GitHub Actions or Bitrise), code signing and automated testing (XCTest, Espresso).
- Experience using crash reporting and analytics tools such as Firebase Crashlytics or Sentry.
- Awareness of mobile security, accessibility and performance best practices.
- Comfort working in an Agile team and clear communication with teammates and stakeholders.
Nice to have:
- Experience with cross-platform frameworks such as Flutter, React Native or Kotlin Multiplatform.
- Experience implementing SSO in mobile apps using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect or identity platforms such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID or Auth0.
- Exposure to cloud backends for mobile (such as Firebase, AWS Amplify or Azure Mobile Apps).
- Apps you have built or contributed to on the App Store or Google Play.
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on mobile application development.
- A track record of shipping and supporting mobile apps in production on iOS, Android or both.
- Curiosity and a drive to keep learning new tools and approaches.
