Partnering with the Executive Leadership Team, Business Unit leaders, and FP&A, the role delivers integrated financial insights, identifies risks and opportunities, and enables informed strategic and operational decision-making.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Planning & Forecast

  • Lead the development, consolidation, review, and ongoing monitoring of the annual Corporate Business Plan, quarterly forecasts, and multi-year strategic financial plan.
  • Establish enterprise planning assumptions, methodologies, timelines, templates, and governance requirements in partnership with Business Unit and functional leaders.
  • Consolidate Business Unit plans and forecasts, assess completeness and reasonableness, and identify key risks, opportunities, dependencies, and performance gaps.
  • Develop integrated three- to five-year financial projections, including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, capital requirements, and scenario analysis aligned with corporate strategy.
  • Lead enterprise capital budgeting and forecasting, providing visibility into investment priorities, timing, expected returns, funding requirements, and impacts on cash flow.
  • Partner with Business Unit leaders and FP&A to forecast new-business growth, monitor pipeline health against strategic objectives, and assess the effects of timing, probability, and value changes on the annual plan and latest forecast.

Monthly Performance Reporting

  • Lead the monthly business performance reporting cycle, consolidating actual results against budget, prior year, and latest forecast and delivering clear, decision-oriented commentary on key revenue, cost, profitability, cash flow, and operational variances.
  • Prepare concise executive reporting packages and performance narratives that translate financial and operational results into key business drivers, emerging risks, opportunities, and recommended management actions aligned with enterprise KPIs and strategic priorities.
  • Perform monthly forecast-to-forecast bridge and impact analysis, quantifying movements from prior outlooks and explaining the underlying assumptions, timing differences, business drivers, and implications for full-year performance.
  • Coordinate closely with Business Unit leaders, Operations Finance, FP&A, and other functional stakeholders to validate results, align commentary and forecasts, resolve data or reporting issues, and ensure timely, accurate, and consistent submissions.
  • Maintain reporting controls, data-validation standards, KPI definitions, and submission calendars to ensure management reporting is accurate, complete, consistent, and delivered within established deadlines.

Planning Process Excellence, Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Assess the effectiveness of planning, forecasting, and reporting processes and maintain a prioritized improvement roadmap aligned with business needs and finance transformation objectives.
  • Lead initiatives to simplify and standardize workflows, reduce cycle times, eliminate non-value-added activities, improve forecast accuracy, and increase the quality and timeliness of decision support.
  • Standardized planning assumptions, templates, calendars, KPI definitions, documentation, and governance practices across Business Units.
  • Partners with FP&A, Business Units, Data Analytics, and Technology teams to enhance planning tools, automate recurring activities, improve system adoption, and strengthen data and reporting controls.
  • Develop and monitor measures of process effectiveness, including forecast accuracy, reporting timeliness, data quality, user adoption, and completion of improvement initiatives.
  • Document critical planning and reporting processes, establish sustainable controls, and provide training and guidance to stakeholders.
  • Lead or support strategic finance initiatives, business cases, scenario analyses, and cross-functional projects sponsored by the CFO, CEO, or Executive Leadership Team.
  • Provide financial insight and analytical support for growth initiatives, investment decisions, productivity programs, organizational priorities, and emerging business requirements.
  • Develop clear recommendations, implementation considerations, and executive materials to support timely decision-making and accountability.

EXPERIENCE

  • 8–10 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate planning, commercial finance, or business performance management within a large, complex organization. Experience in third-party logistics, supply chain, transportation, distribution, or another operationally intensive industry is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams, enterprise planning processes, and strategic initiatives, with or without formal direct-report accountability.

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to connect operational performance, strategic priorities, and financial outcomes.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and financial storytelling capabilities, including the ability to translate complex information into clear executive insights and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders, supported by strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and professional judgement.
  • Hands-on, collaborative leadership style with high standards of accuracy, data integrity, accountability, and performance in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
