This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters.

The Position

A healthier future. It’s what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and in the future. That’s what makes us Roche.

We are seeking a seasoned, empathetic, and data-driven Ecosystem Insights Strategy Lead to pioneer a new era of insights strategy within our organization. This is a newly created, high-impact role designed to translate insights into actionable inputs for strategic discussions.

Your mission will be to transform how we understand stakeholders whom we engage with in the external environment. The first priority for you in this role will be to develop and operationalize a robust insights framework for our partners and the ultimate benefactors of our therapies - Patients. The Ecosystems Insights Strategy Lead will also have an accountability to define an insights framework for other stakeholders, including Health Care Practitioners and other stakeholders for our in-line and pipeline products across our portfolio.

For the first part of your mission, you will enthusiastically engage with patients as partners with unique needs, preferences and emotions. You will build cutting-edge, real-time insight capabilities, to bring the voice of the patient directly into executive strategic discussions, and translate primary market research, voice of customer feedback, field insights, social media listening and other insight sources into powerful, actionable narratives that empower our marketing and field teams. Through your expertise and strong stakeholder relationship-building, you will be a prominent voice for and key enabler of patient-centricity within our organization.

The Ecosystem Insights Strategy Lead role is a high-impact position designed to transform how the organization understands our external stakeholders, starting with patients as partners and the ultimate benefactors of our therapies. By building real-time insight capabilities and synthesizing diverse data sources into actionable recommendations, this leader will bring the patient and stakeholder voice directly into executive strategic discussions. Ultimately, this role is crucial for shaping the company's culture, influencing strategic innovation, and ensuring that patient and stakeholder needs and preferences are integrated into our ways of working and as an enabler of our purpose: Doing now what patients need next.

What We Offer

  • While this role is focused on the Canadian market, they will also forge a network amongst Insights professionals from other large markets to develop relationships and collaborate to pull-through standardized insights approaches
  • The opportunity to build a crucial capability from the ground up with dedicated leadership backing
  • Executive sponsorship from the Chief Patient Experience Officer, and a mandate visible to senior leadership from day one
  • A collaborative, mission-driven environment where your work has a visible, daily impact on patient lives
  • Competitive compensation, comprehensive health benefits, and flexible work arrangements

The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities for First 6-12 Months

1. Build Patient Insight-to-Action Framework & Capabilities

  • Design, implement, and oversee a framework for capturing real-time patient feedback, sentiment, and behavioral data across various touchpoints and associated standardized reporting mechanisms that can be pulled through by individual Disease Area Squads
  • Utilize modern consumer research methodologies (e.g., digital ethnography, journey mapping, social listening, rapid pulse-surveys, syndicated research, primary market research) to monitor the evolving patient landscape associated with a variety of disease areas
  • Identify and maintain an active roster of innovative research partners that specialize in patient and caregiver insights (e.g. managing lunch & learns/pitch sessions, vendor management from RFP through to delivery)
  • Synthesize and triangulate qualitative stories with quantitative data to create a holistic, 360-degree view of the patient-consumer journey (e.g. from research methodologies above, field insights from CRM, Advisory Board insights, etc.)

2. Coach Field Personnel & Other Patient & Stakeholder-Facing Teams to Elicit Effective & Actionable Patient Insights

  • Equip medical and commercial field teams and other departments (e.g. Patient Services, Marketing, etc.) with practical question guides for HCP conversations: e.g. what drives patient treatment preference and switching, where patients drop off between diagnosis, initiation, and adherence, which support resources patients use, request, or never hear about, and how patients find peer support and education

3. Translate Insights into Actionable Narratives

  • Convert complex data sets and field insights into compelling, human-centric narratives and storytelling tools

  • Deliver actionable narrative recommendations to marketing, medical and field teams to refine/finalize together; Marketing and Medical then pulls these through to the creative brief stage, works to optimize outreach, positioning, and campaign resonance

4. Elevate the Patient Voice in Strategy

  • Partner with Squad & Chapter Leadership to ensure patient insights directly influence strategy and resourcing

Key Responsibilities After First Mission Accomplished

Once your first mission outlined in steps 1-4 above have been successfully designed, operationalized and moved into a steady-state for Squads to sustain, your second mission will be to shift gears to other stakeholders. Specifically, your first task will be to assess the existing insights-to-action approaches being leveraged for other stakeholder groups across the business (e.g. HCPs, government stakeholders, etc.) and identify opportunities for greater usage of innovative insights methods, enhanced reporting approaches and help the organization progress on its journey from insights identification to action.

At this juncture, you will also assume leader accountability of other insights initiatives and process, including but not limited to:

  • Insights SOPs/Working Instructions
  • Department processes associated with adverse event reporting
  • Medical Affairs insights initiatives (e.g. Learning Needs Assessments, etc.)

Who you are:

  • 7-10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • 5+ years of applied experience with patient or consumer insight methods: journey mapping, qualitative synthesis, social listening, pulse research, primary market research, segmentation.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian pharma field roles and HCP engagement
  • Very strong storytelling skills with a track record of compelling stakeholders to act in the way you bring insights to life using the “What? So what? Now what?” framework
  • Very strong Excel and powerpoint skills and can quickly gain fluency with a company’s existing data sets and reporting tools
