Job description

We're accepting applications now and will begin active recruitment in September/October 2026.

Altea is Canada’s premier fitness and wellness destination. Multiple boutique studios, modern recovery, and lifestyle amenities, all under one roof, for one membership. We bring together the quality of a standalone boutique with the breadth of a full service club, and we deliver an experience that members build their week around. We are the membership members actually use. Everything we do is designed to deliver a premium member experience.

The Facilities Technician keeps the building running at the standard the member experience demands. You handle the repairs, the preventative tasks, the small things that add up to a facility that looks and functions exactly the way a premium club should. You work alongside the Senior Facilities Technician to make sure nothing slips, and you take enough pride in the building to notice problems before anyone has to tell you about them.

If you find real satisfaction in a problem properly fixed and a facility well maintained, this role is for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Handle Repairs. From plumbing and electrical to carpentry, hardware, and general building systems. you diagnose accurately and fix things properly the first time.
  • Support Preventative Maintenance. You work within the PM program set by the Senior Maintenance Technician. completing scheduled tasks, logging your work, and keeping systems running before they have a chance to fail.
  • Hold the Building Standard. HVAC, fitness equipment, changerooms, common areas. the facility reflects the Altea brand, and your work is a direct contribution to that standard every single day.
  • Keep It Safe. You work in compliance with all health, safety, and building code requirements. You flag hazards when you see them and you never cut corners on safety.
  • Communicate and Close the Loop. You document your work, update your work orders, and keep the Senior Facilities Technician informed. Nothing falls through the cracks on your watch.

WHO YOU ARE

You are here because you are proud of the building you work in and you want to keep it that way.

  • You notice things. A fixture running a little loose, a surface starting to show wear, an issue that has not been reported yet. You catch it because you are paying attention, not because someone pointed it out.
  • You take pride in doing it right. A repair is not done until it is done properly. You don't patch something to buy time. You fix it the way it should be fixed.
  • You show up ready to work and you work well with others. Your tools are organized, your work area is clean, and you take direction from the Senior Facilities Technician with a good attitude. You help where needed without being asked.
  • You are reliable. The building counts on you. Your team counts on you. You show up for it every shift.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 1–3 years of experience in a building maintenance, facilities, or trades role. experience in a hospitality, fitness, or commercial environment is an asset
