About the role

Marsh Canada’s Health & Benefits Center of Excellence (COE) is seeking a Health & Benefits COE Associate to join our onshore team.

This role supports local Health & Benefits consulting teams by completing and reviewing complex analyses, reports, insurer marketing materials, renewal deliverables, and financial audits. The successful candidate will also coach less experienced COE analysts, provide technical peer review, support project coordination, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of tools, templates, and processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced employee benefits professional who combines strong technical and analytical skills with a collaborative, quality-focused, and coaching-oriented approach.

What can you expect?

Marsh Canada's Health & Benefits Center of Excellence (COE) is seeking a Health & Benefits COE Associate to join our onshore team. This role supports local Health & Benefits consulting teams by completing complex analyses, reports, and financial audits. You will also coach less experienced COE analysts, provide technical peer review, and contribute to process improvements.

Your Key Responsibilities

· Perform complex health and benefits analysis with minimal direction, ensuring high quality and accuracy

· Prepare comprehensive reports and deliverables including renewal analyses, quotation reviews, and financial audits

· Conduct technical peer reviews of COE analysts' work to assess accuracy, completeness, and quality

· Provide guidance and coaching to less experienced analysts on tools, methodologies, and health and benefits concepts

· Support project coordination activities and manage multiple concurrent assignments

· Liaise with local consulting teams and insurers to obtain information and provide updates

· Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and quality across COE processes

What you need to have

  • Five to seven years of relevant employee benefits experience, preferably in a consulting, brokerage, insurer, or related environment.
  • Strong knowledge of group benefits underwriting principles, various funding methods, insurer marketing and quotation processes, renewal analysis and reporting, and financial analysis for group insurance plans.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.
  • Experience providing technical guidance, coaching, training, or peer review to colleagues.
  • Experience taking ownership of deliverables and supporting project coordination or project management activities.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with superior attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in an environment where priorities and requirements may change quickly and meet tight deadlines.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to develop new skills and capabilities.
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or a related field.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain appropriate life insurance licenses, as required by provincial regulations and Marsh policies.

What makes you stand out?

  • A track record of providing strong customer service and managing multiple concurrent internal deliverables.
  • The ability to explain health and benefits concepts clearly to colleagues and internal clients with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Experience reviewing insurer quotations, renewal proposals, marketing reports, and financial analyses.
  • Strong judgment and the ability to identify whether an analysis is accurate, complete, and reasonable.
  • A coaching-oriented approach and genuine interest in supporting the development of less experienced analysts.
  • Experience working with local consulting teams and insurers.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset and interest in streamlining processes and improving tools and templates.
  • The ability to work with limited direction while knowing when to escalate questions or issues.
  • A collaborative, dependable, and quality-focused approach.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
  • LLQP designation or provincial equivalent is an asset

Why join our team:

  • We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.
  • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.
  • Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
