About the role
We’re hiring an IT Operations Specialist to support our Wolfedale facility in Mississauga. In this newly created role, you’ll be the first point of contact for IT requests at the facility, helping colleagues stay connected, productive, and equipped with the technology they need.
Reporting to the IT Manager, you’ll provide hands-on support across devices, applications, networks, and meeting room technology. You’ll also help build the processes behind our IT operations, from tracking equipment and documenting solutions to supporting employee onboarding and delivering IT projects.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, communicates clearly, and takes ownership of seeing requests through. You’re curious about new technology, interested in using AI thoughtfully, and excited to grow your skills with direct mentorship from the IT Manager.
This role is based on site at our Wolfedale facility in Mississauga, five days per week.
What you’ll do
- Be the first point of contact for IT requests and incidents at our Mississauga facility, managing issues from initial troubleshooting through resolution or escalation.
- Provide friendly, practical support in person and through Slack and other support channels, keeping colleagues informed of progress and next steps.
- Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot MacBooks, Windows laptops and desktops, iPads, and mobile phones, including applications, monitors, peripherals, and network printers.
- Troubleshoot wired and wireless connectivity issues involving access points, switches, and firewalls, working with the IT Manager and vendors when needed.
- Set up and support meeting room equipment, video conferencing systems, and collaboration tools, including technology for Town Halls and company events.
- Support employee onboarding, offboarding, and access changes, including account setup, device enrolment, equipment handover, and user guidance, following established security requirements.
- Help implement an IT asset management system, build the initial inventory, and establish processes for tracking equipment, ownership, and lifecycle changes.
- Create and maintain knowledge base articles, support procedures, and troubleshooting guides that make common issues easier to resolve.
- Explore ways to use AI to research technical issues and improve IT workflows, validating recommendations and protecting company information.
- Partner with the IT Manager, internal teams, and vendors on projects that improve IT services and the employee experience.
What we’re looking for
- 1–3 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
- A passion for technology and helping people, with a patient, approachable style and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Mac and Windows hardware, operating systems, applications, and peripherals.
- Experience supporting mobile devices, including iPads and phones, with familiarity in device enrolment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Wi-Fi, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with Apple Business Manager and mobile device management platforms such as Intune, Jamf, or SimpleMDM.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace administration, including user accounts, permissions, and access management.
- An interest in creating clear documentation and finding ways to make IT support more efficient.
- A positive, curious approach to AI and an interest in applying it to everyday work.
- The ability to manage competing priorities, follow through on requests, and recognize when to ask for help or escalate an issue.
- A willingness to learn new technologies, seek feedback, and grow your technical skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud-managed networks such as UniFi or Cisco Meraki.
- Experience supporting meeting room A/V systems, video conferencing equipment, or network printers.
- Experience with IT asset management systems.
- A relevant degree, diploma, or IT certification.
Why you’ll love it at Clutch
- Join one of Canada’s largest and fastest-growing B2C startups, reinventing how people buy, sell, and own cars.
- Build it from scratch: this is a new role, and you’ll define how IT runs at our Wolfedale facility — the inventory, the processes, the knowledge base.
- Breadth you won’t get at a help desk: devices, networking, A/V, onboarding, and IT projects, owned end to end.
- Direct mentorship from the IT Manager and a clear runway into systems administration and networking as Clutch scales.
- Competitive pay, equity incentives, and comprehensive health and dental benefits.
Employment Type
- New, Permanent Full-Time.
- On site at our Wolfedale facility in Mississauga, Ontario, five days per week.
- Reports to the IT Manager.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: 55,000–70,000 CAD annually.
- Equity incentives.
- Comprehensive healthcare, dental, vision, prescriptions, life insurance, and dependent coverage.
- Pay reflects skills, performance, market benchmarking, responsibilities, and working conditions.
