Lead regional performance, funding, and accountability initiatives that strengthen Ontario’s integrated health system. As Lead, Performance Accountability and Funding Allocation – Central Region, you will serve as a trusted advisor and primary contact for assigned Health Service Providers (HSPs), overseeing Service Accountability Agreements, performance, and transfer-payment allocations.

Working across Ontario Health and with system partners, you will translate financial and performance insights into practical improvements, manage emerging risks, and advance equitable, patient-centred care. This is a high-impact individual contributor role for a collaborative leader who can influence senior stakeholders and deliver results in a complex health-care environment.

Here is what you will be doing:

  • Act as the primary advisor for assigned HSPs, providing expertise in financial management, performance, integration, and sector-specific issues.
  • Lead Service Accountability Agreements and associated schedules from development through completion.
  • Analyze financial, operational, and key performance indicator results; identify variances, service gaps, emerging risks, and improvement priorities.
  • Build trusted relationships with HSP executives, Ontario Health teams, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Long-Term Care to support effective performance and issues management.
  • Recommend and lead performance-improvement, clinical-service, access-to-care, capital-planning, and system-integration initiatives.
  • Oversee transfer-payment allocations, including in-year revenue monitoring, APTS transactions, documentation, internal controls, and year-end settlements.
  • Support audit requirements, prepare allocation working papers, and resolve reporting or funding discrepancies with partners.
  • Contribute to annual and multi-year work plans while standardizing approaches and sharing best practices across teams.

Here is what you will need to be successful:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health administration, accounting and/or finance is required.
  • Five (5) or more years of financial management experience in a health-care sector organization.
  • CPA and/or equivalent designation, including a master’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Facilitation and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, are an asset.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proven leadership experience in operational or strategic decision-making related to program funding and performance management; knowledge of performance management and evaluation techniques for administrative and/or clinical performance in one or more health sectors; and the ability to review and monitor local funding plans and provide expert input and interpretation on system financial issues and their local impact.
  • In-depth understanding of the health-care system, including its stakeholders, programs and issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with senior-level HSP executives and management teams, Ontario Health colleagues and Ministry contacts.
  • Experience in risk management, with the ability to identify and respond quickly to emerging issues and priorities. Passion for planning and organizing, supported by a systematic, orderly approach and the ability to prioritize, coordinate, act and follow through.
  • Basic understanding of Ontario Healthcare Reporting Standards (OHRS) is an asset.
