Location: NexGen Rook I, Saskatchewan
Rotation and Schedule: 14/14, 12 hr shifts

Who We Are

Cementation is a leading underground mine contracting and engineering company-we design and build mines, safely. Our team specializes in delivering design-build solutions for technically complex projects, with a strong track record in world-class shaft sinking and mine development.

Collaboration is at the core of everything we do. We foster a culture where respect is foundational, innovation is encouraged, and safety is never compromised.

At Cementation, we value experience and are inspired by potential.

Project Opportunity

Cementation is supporting NexGen's shaft sinking project, a major underground construction undertaking that will require disciplined planning, coordination, and control as the work progresses. This is an opportunity to help build and maintain the project controls systems that keep the team informed about performance, emerging changes, and the work ahead.

As Project Change Coordinator, you'll work with project controls colleagues and site teams to turn project data into clear, practical information for decision-making. In this role, you'll help identify emerging changes, coordinate their commercial and schedule assessment, and maintain the records the project team needs to make timely, well-supported decisions.

Purpose of the role

The Project Change Coordinator supports the identification, assessment, documentation, and reporting of project changes, trends, early warnings, and potential claims. The role maintains accurate change records, coordinates timely follow-up with project stakeholders, and works with cost and scheduling personnel to make sure potential impacts are visible in project forecasts and reports.

Key Responsibilities:

Change & Trend Management

  • Maintain the project change, trend, early warnings, and claims registers.
  • Record each item's origin, scope, status, required actions, key dates, and potential cost or schedule impact.
  • Work with project personnel to identify emerging changes, scope gaps, instructions, and other events that may affect the project.
  • Track approvals and follow-up actions, and flag overdue items or approaching contractual timeframes to the Project Controls Manager.
  • Keep change records current, complete, and supported by appropriate documentation.

Commercial & Contractual Awareness / Claims Support

  • Develop and maintain a working understanding of the project contract, commercial terms, change mechanisms, notice requirements and approval workflows.
  • Maintain a log of contractual notice and submission deadlines related to changes, including notices, written change requests, quotations, change directives, approvals, and supporting records.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of change documentation, including scope descriptions, supporting records, cost information, schedule impacts, and status updates.
  • Proactively identify potential commercial risks, entitlement issues, and contractual timeframes associated with emerging changes and trends.
  • Escalate potential entitlement risks or missed deadlines promptly to the Project Controls Manager and relevant commercial personnel.
  • Coordinate cost, schedule, and Contract Time inputs with the project team and assemble supporting records for authorized review and submission.
  • Support claims development, client reviews, negotiations, and dispute-avoidance activities through accurate records and timely coordination.

Reporting & Integration

  • Prepare change and trend reports for internal and client use in accordance with contractual reporting periods.
  • Coordinate with cost and scheduling personnel so approved and potential changes are reflected consistently in forecasts and reports.
  • Maintain organized, traceable project documentation to support audits, assurance reviews, and project closeout.

Health, Safety, and Environment

  • Support Cementation's HSE culture through disciplined and transparent control of change processes.
  • Ensure change documentation supports compliance, assurance, and audit requirements.

What You'll Bring

Required

  • 3–5 years' experience in project controls, commercial, or change management roles.
  • Strong Excel skills and careful attention to records and data quality.
  • Clear written communication and the ability to organize information from multiple project stakeholders.
  • Confidence raising emerging issues and following up on actions with project personnel.

Assets

  • Experience supporting post-award contract administration and change control on mining, construction, or EPC/EPCM projects
  • Experience reviewing cost or schedule impacts with project controls teams.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Microsoft Lists, Power Automate, Power BI, or Primavera P6.

Candidacy

Please note that to be considered, you must be a Canadian citizen or have written authorization to work in Canada under federal immigration requirements and currently be residing in Canada.
