Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Analyst, Quality Assurance to lead quality assurance activities across Porter’s customer-facing and internal IT delivery teams. This role will focus on designing test strategies, executing complex test cases, and championing quality across the software delivery lifecycle.

As a Senior Analyst, Quality Assurance, this role will work alongside developers, product managers, business stakeholders, and automation engineers to ensure high-quality software deployments, mentor more junior QA team members, and drive continuous improvement in Porter’s testing practices.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare test strategies, plans, and cases for complex, cross-system releases, using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, AI-assisted test generation platforms) to accelerate coverage design and expand risk analysis
  • Use AI to prepare, rank, and prioritize test cases across functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and user-acceptance testing, validating and hardening AI output before it enters the official test suite
  • Investigate requirements with developers, product managers, and business stakeholders to identify quality risks, using AI to analyze specs, identify ambiguities, and prepare acceptance criteria for review
  • Use AI to prepare test data and synthetic data across web, mobile, and API-driven systems, ensuring the generated data reflects realistic edge cases and regulatory constraints
  • Investigate defects and prepare reproduction steps, severity ratings, defect clustering, and first-pass root-cause hypotheses using AI, for engineer follow-up
  • Code and maintain automation scripts (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress) and API tests (Postman, RestAssured) against established frameworks, using AI to accelerate drafting and refactoring; collaborate with automation engineers on framework-level changes and CI/CD integration
  • Identify regression coverage gaps and prepare automated tests in-sprint to close them, and measure suite health (flakiness, runtime, coverage) with AI-assisted investigation
  • Use AI to report release readiness signals, prepare go/no-go briefings, and prepare post-release quality assessments with prioritized recommendations
  • Prepare guidance and share validated prompt patterns, validation techniques, and AI usage approaches with intermediate and junior QA analysts, including when AI output must not be trusted without human review
  • Investigate production incidents using AI to analyze logs, correlate signals, and prepare timelines and root-cause narratives from a quality perspective
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, refinement, demos, retrospectives) and use AI to accelerate ticket refinement, estimation preparation, and retrospective analysis
  • Research new AI tooling, prepare validated prompt patterns and workflows, and prepare approved uses for QA process documentation
  • Actively participate in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy

Behavioural Competencies

  • Concern for Safety: Identifying hazardous or potentially hazardous situations and taking appropriate action to maintain a safe environment for self and others.

  • Teamwork: Working collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals.

  • Passenger/Customer Service: Providing service excellence to internal and/or external customers (passengers).

  • Initiative: Dealing with situations and issues proactively and persistently, seizing opportunities that arise.

  • Results Focus: Focusing efforts on achieving high quality results consistent with the organization’s standards.

  • Fostering Communication: Listening and communicating openly, honestly, and respectfully with different audiences, promoting dialogue and building consensus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including experience leading QA on complex projects or releases
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, including test case design, defect management, and test reporting
  • Experience testing web, mobile, and API-driven systems, including hands-on experience with API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience writing and maintaining automated tests in at least one modern framework (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar) and API test suites (Postman, RestAssured, or similar), including integration with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline)
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (Jira, Zephyr, TestRail, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and test data setup
  • Experience mentoring or leading other QA analysts, including codifying validated practices (prompt patterns, automation conventions, test design standards) into shared team documentation
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies
  • Demonstrated expertise in leveraging artificial intelligence solutions (including ChatGPT, Claude, and GitHub Copilot) to optimize daily quality assurance workflows, spanning test scenario development, data synthesis, and technical documentation, while maintaining rigorous validation of all AI-generated outputs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a bias toward risk-based, customer-focused testing
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence quality outcomes across cross-functional teams
  • Experience in aviation, travel, or another regulated industry is an asset
