Position Overview

The Sr. Director Product & Platform Trust is accountable for shaping how Autodesk product teams build safe and secure products at scale. The Senior Director, Product & Platform Trust will partner closely with product and engineering leaders across Autodesk's product & platform divisions to understand their development environments, security needs, and emerging challenges, and systemic barriers to timely remediation. They will translate those insights into a coherent product security strategy and scalable capabilities that help teams prevent security issues, identify them earlier, and remediate them efficiently within their engineering workflows.

You will lead an organization spanning application security, trust engineering, and product management including product-team enablement. Together, these teams will develop the tools, platforms, practices, guidance, and expertise that embed security throughout the product development lifecycle and make secure development easier and more consistent for Autodesk teams.

Reporting to the Chief Trust Officer, you will influence product and engineering strategy across a highly distributed, matrixed organization. Success in this role means building trusted partnerships with product organizations, defining the right security capabilities, driving adoption, and enabling teams to increasingly build security and trust into the software development lifecycle.

This is a highly collaborative, cross-functional leadership role requiring strong product and engineering judgment, deep product security expertise, and the ability to drive change through influence across a global organization.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead Autodesk's product security strategy, with a focus on enabling product teams to develop safe and secure products and services at scale
  • Build deep partnerships with senior product and engineering leaders across Autodesk's product divisions to understand their architectures, development models, priorities, and security challenges
  • Define the security capabilities, practices, and services Autodesk product teams need across the development lifecycle, balancing common enterprise capabilities with the needs of diverse product and technology environments
  • Lead application security strategy, including threat modeling and secure coding practices, application security testing, penetration testing, and other product security capabilities that help teams prevent and address security issues throughout the development lifecycle
  • Lead Product Security Engineering and Product Management to create a clear capability roadmap and deliver scalable tooling, platforms, integrations, automation, and paved roads that fit naturally into engineering workflows
  • Drive adoption and enablement so that security capabilities are usable and effective, and product teams have the knowledge, guidance, and support needed to incorporate security into day-to-day development
  • Create a strong feedback loop between Autodesk's product organizations and Product Security, using developer needs, emerging threats, technology changes, and security insights to continuously evolve priorities and capabilities
  • Partner with Vulnerability Management and Autodesk product organizations to understand systemic barriers to remediation and develop scalable capabilities, automation, and engineering practices that enable product teams to remediate security issues efficiently and sustainably
  • Define and measure outcomes that demonstrate adoption, effectiveness, and improvements in secure development across Autodesk
  • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing, globally distributed organization spanning security expertise, engineering, product management, and enablement

Minimum Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in product security, application security, secure software development, security engineering, or related disciplines, including significant leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading product or application security at scale in a complex software, SaaS, cloud, or technology organization
  • Proven ability to partner with senior product and engineering executives across multiple business or product organizations and influence strategy without relying on direct authority
  • Experience translating product security needs into a capability strategy and roadmap, and leading teams that build or deliver security tooling, platforms, services, integrations, or developer-facing capabilities
  • Experience improving security remediation at scale by addressing developer workflow, tooling, automation, or other systemic barriers
  • Strong understanding of modern software development practices, cloud and platform architectures, secure software development lifecycle practices, and application security techniques
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary organizations that include security practitioners and engineering and/or product management functions
  • Track record of driving adoption and organizational change across large, distributed engineering environments, with a focus on measurable outcomes rather than activity alone
  • Exceptional communication and executive-influence skills, with the ability to translate complex security topics into clear product, engineering, and business decisions
  • Experience building, developing, and retaining senior technical and leadership talent across globally distributed teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building developer-facing security platforms, paved roads, shared services, or self-service capabilities used across multiple product organizations
  • Experience operating in heterogeneous technology environments where security capabilities must support different architectures, development models, and product needs
  • Knowledge of emerging product security challenges related to cloud-native architectures, software supply chain security, AI-enabled development, and AI-powered products
  • Experience using product management practices, customer or developer research, and adoption metrics to shape security capability investments
  • External credibility in product security, application security, or secure software development through industry participation, thought leadership, standards work, or peer networks
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
