Job description

About Athennian

Athennian delivers Governance Ops™ software that aligns legal, finance, tax and fund teams through a secure, integrated source of truth for entity and ownership data. The platform enables organizations managing complex corporate and investment structures to automate governance workflows, maintain audit-ready records and collaborate across functions with confidence.

More than 500,000 entities across over 150 countries are managed on Athennian, helping organizations modernize entity management and transform governance operations into a strategic advantage.

We are a fast-moving, solutions-driven team built on a Product Ninja mindset—navigating ambiguity quickly, asking great questions to simplify complex problems, and using an AI-forward approach to solve hard operational challenges. If you are passionate about building fast, building strong, and empowering everyone around you, we’d love to have you join us.

About the role

As a Senior Product Manager at Athennian, you will shape how modern governance is delivered to some of the world’s most complex organizations. You’ll work closely with engineering, design, and customers to pinpoint high-impact opportunities and translate them into intuitive, efficient platform features.

This role is suited for someone motivated to build impactful software alongside talented teams. It requires curiosity, strong product judgment, and the ability to move quickly while making thoughtful decisions that advance the platform. You bring a collaborative mindset, learn from those around you, step in to guide when needed, and build strong partnerships across teams to deliver transformative outcomes for our customers.

What you'll do

  • Talk to customers continuously. Ask great, incisive questions to make complex, messy problems simple and understandable across legal, finance, and governance workflows.
  • Navigate ambiguity quickly to set clear product direction and roadmap priorities, ensuring the team builds fast and strong without losing focus.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Design to convert ambiguity into sleek, powerful, and high-impact product solutions.
  • Make decisive product choices by balancing strong conviction with humility, drawing from customer insights, market context, and commercial drivers.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Support, and Implementation, caring deeply about enabling teams and making everyone around you better for successful product launches.
  • Define product requirements and user stories that help engineering teams build efficiently while maintaining a high bar for quality.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and how governance operations are evolving.
  • Use AI tools in day-to-day product work to prototype ideas, accelerate discovery, and explore new ways to solve customer problems.
  • Identify opportunities where emerging technologies, including AI, can meaningfully improve customer workflows.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience building B2B SaaS products.
  • A track record of owning product areas from discovery through launch and iteration.
  • Strong product judgment and the ability to make thoughtful trade-offs in fast-moving environments.
  • Experience working closely with engineering and design to deliver high-quality products.
  • Comfortable leading customer discovery and translating insights into product decisions.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and curiosity about how emerging technologies can improve products and workflows.
  • Clear communication and the ability to align teams around product direction and outcomes.
  • Previous experience in a startup/scale up environment
  • Nice to Have: Experience working in Legal-tech, Fintech, or other complex enterprise software environments.
