Job description

The global population is aging, and the need for home care is growing each year. Unfortunately, at a time when care is needed more than ever, the home care industry is facing a crisis – a shortage of care workers.

At Caribou, we're on a mission to solve the caregiver crisis. When caregivers feel valued, recognized, and financially secure, they stay longer, deliver better care, and strengthen our communities.

Caribou is building the engagement infrastructure for the home care workforce and the agentic layer for home care operations. Our platform interfaces with office staff and front-line caregivers to facilitate meaningful recognition, stronger relationships, and operational efficiency.

Caribou was recently recognized as one of The Globe and Mail's Top Growing Companies – #4 in technology – and we're just getting started. Join us as we transform how care organizations recognize and retain the people who make care possible.

Role Summary

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Product Manager who can hit the ground running, take ownership of complex problems, and turn ideas into impactful products.

This is a role for a true product generalist who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. Someone who can quickly understand a problem, identify what matters most, bring the right people together, and get things done.

We're not looking for someone who simply manages a roadmap or coordinates stakeholders. We want a builder with strong product instincts, a bias for action, and a proven track record of shipping products that deliver measurable value to users and the business.

What you'll be doing

  • Own the full product lifecycle, from discovery and prioritization through development, launch, measurement, and iteration.
  • Quickly get up to speed on new problem spaces, identify opportunities, and translate ambiguity into clear priorities and actionable plans.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Design, Customer Success, and Leadership to shape solutions, navigate trade-offs, and deliver meaningful outcomes.
  • Engage directly with customers and end users to understand their challenges, validate assumptions, and uncover opportunities.
  • Use qualitative insights and quantitative data to inform decisions, measure success, and continuously improve products.
  • Balance long-term product thinking with the practical realities of shipping quickly and delivering incremental value.
  • Take ownership of execution, remove roadblocks, and keep initiatives moving forward without needing extensive direction.
  • Occasionally travel to the U.S. to meet with our users in real life!

About You

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience, ideally within a fast-paced B2B or B2C SaaS environment.
  • A proven track record of owning products end to end, from identifying problems and shaping solutions to launching, measuring, and iterating.
  • Strong execution skills and a bias for action. You know how to move from strategy to delivery without getting stuck in endless planning.
  • Excellent product judgment. You know when to dig deeper, when to challenge assumptions, and when there's enough information to make a decision and move forward.
  • A scrappy, entrepreneurial mindset. You're resourceful, adaptable, and comfortable making progress with imperfect information and limited resources.
  • Strong technical fluency and the ability to collaborate closely with Engineering to understand constraints, evaluate trade-offs, and shape practical solutions.
  • A customer-centric approach grounded in genuine curiosity, empathy, and a desire to solve meaningful problems.
  • Comfort using data to guide prioritization, evaluate product performance, and demonstrate measurable impact.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment where priorities evolve, responsibilities overlap, and ownership matters more than job titles.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building B2B2C products where both the customer and end-user experience matter
  • Experience building products with high-frequency end-user engagement, such as workforce technology, HR tech, consumer/mobile applications, or gaming
  • Experience with loyalty, rewards, or recognition products
  • Experience in home care, healthcare, or workforce technology

Good to know

  • This is a full-time role open to candidates based in Toronto or Montreal
  • We work remotely, with opportunities to come together in person for company retreats, team events, and customer meetings throughout the year

Why this role is exciting

Build meaningful products. You’ll have the opportunity to take products beyond demos and experiments and turn them into experiences that deliver tangible value for real users.

Build for both buyers and consumers. You’ll solve business-critical problems for home care organizations while creating products that caregivers genuinely choose to use and return to.

Own outcomes, not just features. You’ll have significant autonomy to make product decisions and will be accountable for whether the products you own achieve the outcomes they’re designed to deliver.

Shape how products show up in the market. Your ownership will extend beyond what we build to how the product is positioned, branded, launched, and understood.

Get incredibly close to your users. We have a highly engaged community of caregivers and customers, giving you a continuous feedback loop to understand what’s working, what isn’t, and what we should build next.

Make an impact beyond the product. The products we build support home care organizations and the caregivers delivering essential care every day. Your work can help make caregivers’ jobs easier, improve their experience at work, and ultimately contribute to better care.

Join us at an exciting stage of growth. Caribou is growing, our product portfolio is expanding, and you’ll have the opportunity to meaningfully influence both our products and how our Product function evolves.
