Modernizing the Specialty insurance industry
Full company description
Ledgebrook is an InsurTech MGA on a mission to bring Specialty insurance into the modern era. Burdened with legacy technology and processes, the industry has not kept pace with the speed of innovation seen in other sectors. Positioned at the cutting edge of the next generation of InsurTech, Ledgebrook offers the best of both worlds: innovative world-class technology deployed by a leadership team armed with decades of insurance expertise. Our long-term vision is to become a diversified full stack Specialty re/insurer competing with legacy carriers in product lines & markets across the globe. To get there Ledgebrook will build our premium base by rolling out a new Specialty product every ~6 months until we prove enough traction to raise a balance sheet, become a full stack carrier and eventually compete in the reinsurance markets as well. Our initial product will be domestic primary and excess GL E&S policies sourced via wholesale brokers. At Ledgebrook everything we do is driven by our culture: Care, Strive, Thrive Together. To succeed in modernizing the industry, we must first succeed in changing the way we do business. Talent density is our north star—fewer, better people working together as one. To that end we’ve replaced all individual incentives with generous equity packages—we play as a team, we win as a team. Everyone benefits handsomely from Ledgebrook’s success. Ledgebrook is a fully-remote US based company backed by top venture investors including Brand Foundry & American Family Ventures.

Description
Ledgebrook is an AI-native specialty insurance platform. When a business needs coverage that is custom and complex, its broker comes to us, and our underwriters give them an answer, often in hours rather than weeks.
We built our technology from scratch, with AI in it from the first line of code. The technology helps price the risk; the underwriter uses their judgment to decide. There are always two hands on the wheel.
We are insurance industry insiders, and we eat our own cooking: Ledgebrook writes the policy and shares the risk through our own carrier, Ledgebrook Specialty, rated A- (Excellent) by AM Best. We work exclusively through wholesale brokers.
Our vision: to make the wheels of insurance spin faster.
At Ledgebrook, everything we do is driven by our culture: Care, Strive, Thrive Together.
About the Role
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will work closely with the engineering team on cloud infrastructure reliability and scalability. You'll help streamline developer workflows and build self-service platform features that support engineering teams.

- Administer Kubernetes: Manage, optimize, and monitor our AWS Kubernetes clusters, ensuring robust container orchestration, healthy resource allocation, and smooth scaling.
- Automate Deployment Pipelines: Architect, implement, and maintain secure, reliable CI/CD pipelines using ArgoCD and GitHub Actions to automate software delivery.
- Empower Developer Self-Service: Write, modularize, and maintain Helm charts and platform templates to abstract infrastructure complexity and enable developers to deploy their applications independently.
- Optimize Network & Traffic Control: Configure and manage our service mesh architecture using Istio to ensure secure traffic flow, robust encryption, and advanced routing capabilities.
- Manage AWS Infrastructure as Code: Codify and maintain all cloud resources using Terraform, ensuring environment consistency across staging and production.

- A Growth Mindset: You possess a hunger for continuous learning and want to constantly expand your skillset.
- Urgency & Prioritization: You can pivot quickly and balance the need to get things right with the speed of getting them done right now.
- A Solution-Oriented Outlook: When things go wrong, you don't look for blame—you immediately focus on how to fix it.
