Job description

The Role

Supervisor, Media

Hybrid · Cambridge, Ontario · Full-time

Great media plans are only as good as the thinking behind them—and the execution that brings them to life.

As Supervisor, Media, you'll be part strategist, part analyst, part negotiator and part client partner (and, on busy weeks, part budget detective).

You'll run the day-to-day on two to three client accounts, build the plans that solve real marketing problems, and make sure every media dollar is working as hard as it can.

This role is for someone who can take a campaign from brief to reconciliation without missing a beat—someone who sees the big picture while keeping a sharp eye on budgets, pacing and placements.

You'll work closely with media directors and other integrated teams as well as other external partners, and be the person clients and colleagues turn to for clear, confident media thinking.

Who We Are:

We're a fiercely independent, full-service marketing agency built on one simple belief:

Truth made remarkable is the most powerful idea of all.

Through our RISE:360 model, strategy, creative, media, design, social, influence and production work together as one team. Our clients span beauty, food, technology, health and lifestyle—and we bring the same curiosity and rigour to every one of them.

The Opportunity:

This is a chance to step into a true client media lead role—one where your thinking shapes strategy, not just schedules.

You'll support clients ranging from $3M to $10M+ in media billings, across different categories and investment levels. That means variety, complexity and the chance to bring real depth and breadth to the work.

Working alongside the Director, Media, you'll manage the day-to-day running of your accounts, contribute to strategic business conversations and keep Agency resources focused on what matters most to the Client.

You won't work in a silo. You'll work closely with media directors and other integrated teams as well as external partners and be the person clients and colleagues turn to for clear, confident media thinking.

And because you've been around the block, you'll be someone others across the Agency seek out—for insight, for advice and for a better way of doing things.

What You'll Be Doing:

As Supervisor, Media, you'll own the plan, the people and the results. You'll:

  • Develop and maintain media plans across digital and traditional channels, keeping budgets, placements and timelines accurate and on track.
  • Respond to client briefs with data-driven, results-oriented media solutions—and present and defend your recommendations with confidence.
  • Negotiate with vendors and media partners to secure the best value and the smartest placements.
  • Lead vendor and partner briefings that are insightful, clear and actionable.
  • Turn complex data into compelling presentations and insights that fuel strategy.
  • Use research, planning and reporting tools (WARC, eMarketer, comScore, platform reporting and more) to build a strong strategic rationale.
  • Oversee campaign execution from planning through billing, pacing and reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and accountability at every step.
  • Build and deliver performance reports that go beyond the numbers—flagging underperformance, recommending optimizations and applying a "so what?" lens to inform what we do next.
  • Audit tracking and attribution to keep reporting data accurate and consistent, and work with vendors to troubleshoot (or challenge) when something doesn't add up.
  • Guide and oversee your direct reports and activation teams—steering daily activities, sharing what you know and contributing to performance and career development conversations.
  • Partner with the Director, Media and Account Leads to grow and retain client relationships, keeping everyone informed on status, expectations and outcomes.
  • Keep a constant eye out for new ways Milestone can help clients succeed—and bring those ideas forward.

What You Bring:

You've built a strong foundation in media and you're ready to take on more. You bring:

  • 5–8+ years of media planning and buying experience, ideally in an agency environment, in progressively more senior roles.
  • Proven experience across both digital and traditional media channels.
  • Experience managing media teams and client relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • A strong command of performance metrics (impressions, clicks, conversions, CPM, CPA, ROAS) and how to use them to evaluate effectiveness.
  • Comfort working with large data sets and an understanding of how to evaluate data.
  • Advanced communication skills—including the ability to distill key ideas for teams that don't live and breathe digital.
  • Expert-level Excel skills (bonus points if you're the one teaching everyone else the shortcuts).
  • A strong working knowledge of social media platforms and marketing strategy.
  • A proven ability to work with and influence cross-functional teams.
  • A highly detail-oriented approach, with a track record of accuracy in budgeting, reporting and documentation.

You'll have relevant post-secondary education, training or equivalent experience, along with the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Certifications in DCM, Google Analytics and social platforms are an asset, but not a requirement.

You'll Love This Role If...

  • You get a thrill out of turning a brief into a plan that actually moves the needle.
  • You can zoom out to the strategy without losing track of the line items.
  • You see a performance dip and immediately start asking why—and what to do about it.
  • You'd rather walk into a meeting with a recommendation than a list of problems.
  • You genuinely like clients—and enjoy learning how their businesses work.
  • You enjoy a good negotiation (and getting more for every dollar).
  • You want more ownership, more client exposure and the chance to shape strategy on bigger, more complex accounts.
  • You like working with smart people across different disciplines and believe the best media is fully integrated with everything around it.

Why Milestone?

We believe great work happens when great people have room to grow.

At Milestone, you'll work directly with recognized brands, collaborate across every discipline in the agency and see firsthand how your media thinking shapes the bigger picture.

You'll have the ownership to lead, the support to keep learning and the opportunity to build lasting client relationships.

If you're ready to take the next step in your media career, we'd love to meet you.

Apply today and tell us a little about the campaigns—and the results—you're most proud of.

We thank all applicants in advance; however, only those who meet the requirements will be contacted to move forward.
