Job description

At Tecsys, the software we deliver keeps hospitals, pharmacies and distributors supplied with what they need, when they need it. Every role here connects to that outcome.

Why This Role Matters

As a Technical Product Owner, you will join our Itopia platform team, a team at the heart of the low-code application platform that Tecsys Elite is built on. Itopia powers our warehouse, distribution, transportation and healthcare supply chain applications, along with the extensions our customers and partners build, and its APIs connect Elite to the systems around it.

You’ll own the backlog for the Itopia framework, including the low-code platform, the Data API and Event API, mobile workflows and shared platform services. You’ll decide what the team builds next, write the stories, and make the release-level tradeoffs that keep Itopia easy to build on and safe to upgrade. Working with two engineering teams that cover the user interface, mobile app, back end and APIs, you’ll help customers and partners build on Itopia with confidence.

What You’ll Be Part Of

Tecsys is trusted by mission-critical organizations in healthcare and distribution to power resilient, efficient and secure supply chains. We are a global provider of cloud-based AI-driven software, publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX: TCS).

Three values guide how we work. We earn trust daily by valuing the customer and acting with integrity. We build each other up by recognizing individual strengths and working as one team. And we explore boldly by staying curious and adapting for success.

You’ll join a culture driven by curiosity, continuous learning, and people who challenge what’s possible.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and prioritize the backlog for the Itopia framework across low-code, APIs, mobile and platform services, turning the needs of application teams, customers and partners into clear epics, user stories and acceptance criteria, and accepting completed work against them.
  • Own the product lifecycle of the Data API and Event API, including new capabilities, developer experience, documentation, versioning and deprecation, and make our APIs and metadata ready for AI agents, including through MCP servers.
  • Evolve the low-code platform and the Itopia user interface so application teams, partners and customers can build and extend Elite applications and carry their work safely through upgrades, championing upgrade quality so customers can adopt new releases with confidence.
  • Own shared platform services used across Elite applications, such as printing (BarTender), and improve mobile workflows for warehouse and handheld users.
  • Triage and prioritize customer issues escalated from support, turning recurring patterns into product fixes, and define success criteria and measure adoption and impact after release to set priorities.
  • Coordinate launch readiness with documentation, enablement and go-to-market teams, and promote Itopia to developers, partners and customers through demos, webinars, user conference sessions and analyst briefings.
  • Partner with the AI product team on AI-assisted experiences in Elite, use AI tools to speed up product work (requirements drafting, analysis, documentation, backlog refinement, spec-driven flows with engineering and QA), and take an active part in Agile ceremonies and retrospectives.

Requirements

What You Bring

You do not need to match every line below. If most of it describes you, apply:

  • 3+ years as a Product Owner or Product Manager on a technical software product, ideally a platform used by developers or other product teams.
  • Experience contributing to the requirements, design or lifecycle of an API offering (REST or event-driven).
  • Hands-on backlog management with engineering teams in an Agile environment, using Jira.
  • Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to discuss architecture, data models and tradeoffs with developers.
  • Experience presenting to external audiences, such as user conferences, webinars or analyst briefings.
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to work well with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Benefits

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Remote-first flexibility and the trust to manage your own time
  • Benefits and vacation from day one
  • Pension plan with competitive employer contribution
  • Employee events and community initiatives
  • Room to learn, stretch and take on new challenges
  • Collaboration with global teams

We foster an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive.
