This role is based on-site at the Calgary (YYC) office.

A Day in the Life:

The duties of the Technical Services Librarian include:

  • Query aviation authority and OEM portals for new publications and distribute them for assessment in Swiss-AS AMOS.
  • Track maintenance library manuals, including online and printed technical publications, to ensure the accuracy of revisions, amendments, and subscription renewals in support of regulatory compliance.
  • Regularly review controlled technical publications and forms to verify they reflect the latest revisions and are readily available to technical staff.
  • Maintain revision status by liaising with external vendors on a scheduled basis to acquire the most up-to-date documentation.
  • Notify relevant staff when publications are updated and ensure outdated materials are appropriately retired.
  • Maintain a registry of all revisions to support audit processes.
  • Maintain the online SharePoint Technical Library, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and accessible.
  • Oversee MyBoeingFleet technical functions, including conducting regular access rights audits.
  • Manage access rights for external vendors to technical manuals and support technical staff with external online documentation services.
  • Develop and distribute training related to publication access and management.
  • Perform additional tasks as required to support the Maintenance department.

What You Bring to the Role:

The preferred candidate should exemplify Flair's core values: honesty, efficiency, accountability, and respect, while demonstrating success in previous roles. Additionally, we are seeking individuals who possess:

    • Experience managing and maintaining aviation technical documentation, including Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMMs), Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPCs), and regulatory publications.
    • Experience working with aviation regulatory requirements and technical documentation standards, including Transport Canada and other applicable regulatory authorities.
    • Experience maintaining controlled documents, revisions, and technical records to ensure current information is available to applicable teams.
    • Experience with MyBoeingFleet is considered an asset.
    • Experience with Swiss-AS AMOS is considered an asset.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong knowledge of document control, document classification, cataloguing standards, and metadata management.
    • Proficiency with document management systems (DMS) and other technical documentation tools.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage document revisions, updates, and multiple priorities.
    • Strong attention to detail when reviewing, maintaining, and controlling technical documentation and records.
    • Ability to manage time-sensitive documentation requirements and ensure current technical information is readily available.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with Technical Services, Maintenance, Engineering, and other internal teams.
    • Ability to work independently while managing assigned responsibilities and deadlines.
