This is a broad leadership role spanning our corporate head office, construction sites, Income Producing Property (IPP) sites, regulated energy utility operations, and technology support for the family office and family members. You’ll oversee both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments, ensuring our infrastructure, cybersecurity controls, data protection capabilities, and emerging technologies are secure, scalable, and resilient.

Leading a team of infrastructure professionals, you’ll combine strategic thinking with hands-on technical expertise to strengthen service delivery, modernize our technology environment, and support the evolving needs of the business.

ABOUT WESGROUP

At Wesgroup, we're more than a real estate company. We build vibrant communities where people live, work, and connect.

Founded in British Columbia over 70 years ago, Wesgroup has grown into one of Western Canada's largest private real estate companies, with a portfolio spanning residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use properties. With over 4 million square feet of owned and managed assets and a strong development pipeline, we continue to shape communities across Metro Vancouver.

Our success is built on accountability, adaptability, strong relationships, and treating others according to the Golden Rule, while empowering our employees to do meaningful work and grow their careers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Infrastructure Strategy & Lifecycle Management

  • Lead the planning, architecture, implementation, and lifecycle management of secure, resilient, and redundant technology infrastructure across Wesgroup’s head office, construction sites, IPP sites, regulated energy utility operations, and family office environments.
  • Develop infrastructure roadmaps and proactively plan for the modernization, migration, replacement, and retirement of technology solutions.
  • Provide leadership across both IT and OT environments, ensuring technology is appropriately integrated, protected, reliable, and aligned with operational requirements.

Service Delivery & Business Continuity

  • Establish and manage service level agreements, service standards, and team performance measures to deliver reliable technology services and effectively manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Provide Tier 3 support capabilities alongside the broader Technology team and lead the resolution of complex or escalated infrastructure issues.
  • Support technology preparedness and business continuity across multiple emergency response structures, including family, corporate, and regulated utility environments.

People Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Infrastructure team, establishing clear priorities, accountabilities, and performance expectations.
  • Create a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and strong partnerships across the Technology team and broader organization.

AI Enablement & Data Protection

  • Lead the secure adoption of AI tools across Wesgroup by understanding business needs, evaluating solutions, establishing appropriate governance and usage guidelines, and monitoring adoption and effectiveness.
  • Implement and manage Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP) capabilities and associated policies, controls, monitoring, and response processes.
  • Ensure AI and data protection practices align with Wesgroup’s cybersecurity, privacy, data governance, and technology standards.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Lead cybersecurity controls across Wesgroup’s on-premises, cloud, IT, and OT environments, including vulnerability and patch management, identity and access management, endpoint protection, security monitoring, and incident response.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, consultants, and vendors to identify infrastructure and cybersecurity risks and drive appropriate remediation.
  • Maintain strong backup, disaster recovery, and infrastructure resilience capabilities to support business continuity.

Technology Strategy & Governance

  • Contribute to technology roadmaps, data management strategies, process and data-flow mapping, data quality initiatives, governance frameworks, and technology business cases.
  • Partner with the Service Delivery team to review proposed infrastructure, systems, and technology solutions, ensuring they are secure, supportable, and aligned with Wesgroup’s broader technology environment.
  • Support the technology needs of the family office and family members, maintaining appropriate levels of security, confidentiality, reliability, and service.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in technology infrastructure, cloud services, systems administration, networking, cybersecurity, or a related technology environment.
  • At least 3 years of people leadership or management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and managing both IT and OT environments.
  • A two-year College, Trade, or Technical Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Systems, Network Administration, Cybersecurity, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree is considered an asset.
  • Extensive experience with VMware, Microsoft 365, and disaster recovery systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Intune, and Purview.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise networking and network security, including Palo Alto Networks firewalls, VPNs, switches, and routers.
  • Experience with on-premises and cloud architectures, including SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS, with demonstrated experience leading on-premises-to-cloud migration projects.
  • Knowledge of enterprise SIEM solutions and the ability to monitor, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity events.
  • Strong understanding of technology security, risk management, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
  • Proven ability to lead and implement technology initiatives in complex, evolving environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively with both highly technical stakeholders and business leaders.
  • A strategic and solutions-focused mindset with strong judgement, problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Experience supporting complex, multi-site environments such as construction, industrial, energy, utilities, or other operational technology environments would be an asset.
