  • Evaluate customer financial performance, liquidity, leverage, cash flow, and capital structure to support sound credit decisions
  • Recommend credit limits, payment terms, guarantees, collateral structures, and other risk mitigation solutions aligned with commercial objectives and risk tolerance
  • Monitor portfolio quality, industry concentrations, emerging risks, and counterparty trends
  • Partner with Sales, Finance, Treasury, Legal, and senior leadership on complex customer credit decisions
  • Lead credit insurance strategy and broader risk mitigation approach across the portfolio, balancing opportunity, protection, and cost
  • Assess international and country risk, including political, legal, currency, and cross-border recovery considerations, and develop practical structures to manage non-payment risk
  • Take an active leadership role in distressed accounts, collections, restructuring, and recovery planning, working cross-functionally to improve outcomes
  • Maintain strong credit methodology, analytics, and governance through clear reporting, watchlists, stress testing, portfolio insights, and recommendations for senior leadership
  • Drive process improvement and transformation across underwriting, monitoring, reporting, and workflow management
  • Lead automation and analytics initiatives that reduce manual effort, improve visibility, strengthen controls, and support faster, more consistent decision-making
  • Help advance the use of technology, data, and AI-enables tools to improve credit analysis, early-warning monitoring, and overall decision quality
  • Build dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting that enable proactive portfolio oversight and measurable performance improvement
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of credit professionals while fostering accountability, intellectual curiosity, constructive challenge, and openness to new ways of working
  • Create an environment where established practices are regularly evaluated, challenged where appropriate, and improved to meet evolving business needs and progressive industry standards

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • MBA, CFA, CTP, or similar credential would be an asset
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate credit, trade credit, commercial banking, or corporate risk management
  • Significant experience assessing private, middle-market, and large corporate counterparties in complex credit environments
  • Strong working knowledge of financial statement analysis and corporate credit fundamentals
  • Experience developing, applying, or enhancing internal risk rating methodologies and credit decision frameworks
  • Exposure to both North American and international credit environments
  • Working knowledge of international trade documentation, insolvency and restructuring concepts, and receivables monetization
  • Demonstrated success leading change, improving processes, or modernizing established ways of working within a credit, finance, or risk function
  • Experience identifying opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and risk visibility
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo constructively, introduce new ideas credibly, and lead teams through change
