Role :

The Fleet Coordinator supports daily coordination of FIL Delivery's driver fleet and transportation operations, helping ensure all routes are efficiently planned, executed, and monitored. This is a hands-on, junior-level role suited to a coordinator with 1–2 years of dispatch experience who is comfortable with technology and ready to build on that foundation in route optimization through our TMS, fleet readiness, cost control, and proof of delivery (POD) compliance. The Fleet Coordinator works closely with drivers, customers, and internal operations, and will receive on-the-job training and mentorship from the Transportation team to grow into full ownership of dispatch and routing operations across FIL’s retail, licensee, and convenience channels throughout Ontario.

What we are looking for:

• 1–2 years of dispatch experience in transportation, logistics, courier, 3PL, or distribution.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think through multi-stop, multi-driver route planning.

• Comfort learning new software platforms quickly, with a genuine interest in how technology applies to operations.

Preferred / Asset:

• Familiarity with beverage, alcohol, LCBO, or CPG distribution.

• Supply chain certificate, or a college diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Business, or a related field.

• Experience routing LTL loads in a TMS.

• Hands-on experience with a TMS, routing, or telematics platform (training on FIL’s systems provided).

• Working knowledge of HOS and CVOR requirements.

• Interest in or exposure to AI, automation, or data analysis tools as they apply to logistics and route optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

On a daily basis, complete the following duties:

  • Build, optimize, and monitor daily delivery routes in our TMS, re-sequencing stops as traffic, delays, or order changes come up.
  • Coordinate daily routing and load planning with the warehouse team so picking, staging, and departures line up with planned routes.
  • Serve as a point of contact for drivers during the shift: brief them before departure, track progress in real time, and help resolve delays or on-road issues.
  • Assign vehicles and support pre-trip and post-trip inspections, preventative maintenance tracking, and MTO/CVOR compliance.
  • Monitor fuel, idle time, overtime, and dispatch costs, and flag variances and inefficiencies to fleet leadership.
  • Make sure every delivery has a valid Proof of Delivery (POD), and follow up on and reconcile any exceptions the same day.
  • Manage dispatch communications and work with Customer Service on rush orders, redeliveries, and delivery status updates.
  • Monitor Hours of Service (HOS) compliance and alert management to potential violations.
  • Generate daily route performance reports and bring ideas for using data and automation to improve how we work.
