Job description

Relic is an award-winning developer of genre-defining strategy games including Warhammer: Dawn of War, Company of Heroes, and Age of Empires IV. Newly independent, we are positioned to better serve our players, experiment with exciting new game ideas, and continue delivering the rich interactive experiences players have come to expect from us over the last 25 years.

We are looking for a Helpdesk Support Specialist (fixed term – 12 months). This is a 100% on-site role based in our Vancouver studio, focused primarily on supporting our teams with their day-to-day technology needs. You’ll troubleshoot hardware and software issues, image and deploy PCs, and provide hands-on desktop support across the studio. You’ll need to be comfortable jumping into problems, figuring things out and getting people back up and running quickly

As a Helpdesk Support Specialist at Relic, you will…

  • Provide responsive, friendly and consistent technical support to people across the studio
  • Manage and prioritize incoming support requests, troubleshooting hardware, software, access and connectivity issues
  • Deploy, maintain and troubleshoot workstations, laptops, peripherals and other studio technology
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including accounts and access, workstation and desk setup, and equipment
  • Track and manage hardware inventory and software licensing, including purchasing and renewals
  • Support Helpdesk projects and studio activities such as hardware refreshes, software rollouts, desk moves, playtests and events

You are a great fit if you have…

  • Previous experience in Helpdesk, IT support, desktop support or a similar technical support role
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the patience and persistence to solve challenging problems
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows workstations, hardware, peripherals and common business applications
  • Experience with tools such as ticketing systems, workstation deployment, monitoring, patching or device management platforms
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple requests in a busy environment
  • A resourceful, detail-oriented approach and the ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for help

It’s a bonus if you have…

  • Experience working in a game studio, software development environment or other technical workplace
  • Experience with development hardware such as console dev kits
  • Experience with audio/video equipment, video capture or streaming
  • Familiarity with tools such as Perforce, Confluence or Zendesk

Are you game? We’d like to hear from you!
We are proud to be an equal-opportunity employer and value our diverse workplace. We strongly encourage applications from women, Indigenous and racialized peoples, LGBTQ2S+ individuals, and people with disabilities. Our studio is made up of people with a wide variety of backgrounds and life experiences because it makes us better, and helps our games tell stories to our whole audience.
