Our property is currently undergoing an active renovation project, making project management, strong organization, and planning skills critical assets for success in this role. The Maintenance Manager will work closely with the General Manager to help guide the team toward a successful and smooth reopening of the hotel once renovations are completed.

In this role, you will help drive operational excellence by supporting team development, improving building performance, and ensuring efficient, safe, and reliable maintenance operations. You will be a key leader in balancing short-term operational needs with long-term property improvement goals.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement departmental plans and measurable goals aligned with company strategy, including operating and capital budget preparation

  • Collaborate with managers, supervisors, and ambassadors to identify operational needs, close performance gaps, and implement practical solutions

  • Oversee maintenance operations, proactively forecasting and addressing repair and infrastructure needs across the property

  • Support renovation and capital improvement initiatives while coordinating work with contractors and sub-trades

  • Forecast labour, production, and operational requirements to maintain efficient scheduling and resource use

  • Manage departmental budgets and prioritize work to maximize value and performance

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to maintenance team members, supporting workflow delegation and performance standards

  • Monitor quality of work and ensure compliance with guest service expectations and operational standards

  • Support guest service excellence by helping remove operational barriers and responding flexibly to special events and changing business needs

  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, employment, and workplace regulations, including WCB, OH&S, and employment standards

What You Bring

  • Physical mobility and stamina to perform the duties of the role

  • Secondary School Diploma required; post-secondary education or trade certification is considered an asset

  • Trade certification in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or refrigeration preferred

  • Minimum 3 years Journeyman status with at least 2 years of experience leading a team

  • Strong experience working with contractors and sub-trades

  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning

  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English

  • Proven leadership, coaching, and team motivation abilities

  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills

  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and WHMIS training

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of an exciting renovation and transformation journey

  • Work in a culture that values accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

  • Play a direct role in preparing the hotel for its next chapter of guest service excellence

If you are an organized, proactive leader who enjoys solving problems, supporting teams, and contributing to property transformation, we would love to hear from you!
