This role leads a team of two QA, with scope expected to grow as the QMS program matures
What You'll Do
Document Control & Change Control
- Own the controlled document lifecycle for SOPs and quality records: authoring standards, review/approval workflows, version control, periodic review schedules, distribution, and archival.
- Lead the change control process, including weekly CC meetings, register management, closure tracking, and escalation of stalled items.
- Govern data integrity controls for QA-owned systems: user access management, audit trail review oversight, and electronic signature/metadata compliance.
- Ensure documents and change control records are complete, accurate, and audit-ready at all times.
GxP Compliance
- Ensure quality systems and processes align with GMP, GPP, and Cannabis Act/Regulations requirements across sites.
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on QMS processes, procedures, and documentation.
- Track regulatory commitments through implementation, in coordination with Regulatory Affairs.
- Establish and maintain QMS policies, SOPs, and standards in alignment with applicable regulations and company requirements.
QA Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze deviation, CAPA, change control, and audit finding data to identify trends and systemic issues.
- Develop and maintain quality metrics and KPI dashboards; report to senior leadership on a defined cadence.
- Support the complaint intake, triage, and trending process, closing the loop between complaint data and downstream CAPA actions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen system performance and compliance posture.
Training
- Administer the training system, including curriculum design, periodic review, and compliance with training requirements for staff, contractors, and visitors.
Risk Management
- Ensure quality risk assessments are current, scientifically justified, and approved by the appropriate function.
- Verify risk controls are translated into procedures, monitoring, or CAPAs, with effectiveness confirmed.
Self-Inspection
- Lead and mature the risk-based internal audit / self-inspection program: scope, scheduling, finding classification, closure tracking, and effectiveness verification.
- Ensure self-inspections evaluate actual practice on the floor, in addition to document review.
Audit Management
- Serve as the quality systems subject matter expert for regulatory inspections and internal/external audits.
- Track inspection observations, commitments, and responses to closure.
- Ensure sites are inspection-ready at all times.
eQMS Implementation & Systems Integration
- Serve as a key contributor to eQMS implementation and configuration across sites, including URS development, validation support, and post-go-live administration.
- Redesign existing quality processes to operate within the eQMS platform and standardize practices across sites where it improves consistency without compromising site-specific regulatory needs.
- Build and adapt quality systems to business needs as the organization scales, working with process owners across departments.
People Management & Team Development
- Directly manage quality systems team members; provide coaching, performance feedback, and development support.
- Assign and oversee team workload, aligning priorities with quality objectives and remediation milestones across sites.
- Build team capability in GxP requirements, quality systems tools, and continuous improvement methodology.
What You Bring
