  • Review financial assurance documents for accuracy and completeness against approved templates, contractual requirements and negotiated terms, and work with internal stakeholders and counterparties to address discrepancies, non-standard provisions and other documentation issues through execution
  • Support the ongoing administration of financial assurances, including amendments, renewals, replacements, expiries and related reporting and follow-up requirements
  • Draft correspondence and supporting documentation related to financial assurance requirements
  • Maintain accurate financial assurance records and supporting documentation in Counterparty Risk systems and approved document repositories
  • Maintain and update templates, precedents, procedures and supporting materials to promote consistency and quality across the Financial Assurances function
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen processes, controls and efficiencies within the Financial Assurances function

  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge, participating in peer review and continuously developing knowledge of financial assurance documentation and processes.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized Legal Assistant or Paralegal program
  • Minimum of four years of Legal Assistant or Paralegal experience
  • A combination of education and work experience may be considered
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and time-sensitive deliverables while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience preparing, reviewing or administering letters of credit, guarantees or other forms of financial assurance or credit support
  • Experience drafting, negotiating and reviewing legal or commercial documents
  • Experience using enterprise systems to manage records, documentation and workflows
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn and apply new technology, including AI-enabled tools.
