Job description

Meet Benevity

Benevity is the way the world does good, providing companies (and their employees) with technology to take social action on the issues they care about. Through giving, volunteering, grantmaking, employee resource groups and micro-actions, we help most of the Fortune 100 brands build better cultures and use their power for good. We’re also one of the first B Corporations in Canada, meaning we’re as committed to purpose as we are to profits. We have people working all over the world, including Canada, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and more!

At Benevity, we are dedicated to our mission and making a positive impact. As a Senior Proposal Writer, you will lead our most complex RFx responses, manage RFx intake, review the team's submissions for quality and own our content library. You'll write and submit RFx responses alongside the team, mentor other writers and work with the Manager on bid/no-bid decisions and process improvements.

This role reports to the Manager, Strategic Market Intelligence & Proposals.

Please note this is a 12 month contract.

What you'll do:

  • RFx Leadership: Lead Benevity's most complex RFx responses from kickoff to submission, partnering with Sales on win themes and positioning. Write and submit standard RFx responses alongside the team as needed.

  • Proposal Writing: Write client-specific executive summaries, cover letters and solution narratives, and complete detailed questionnaires with subject matter experts. Use insights from the Strategic Market Intelligence team to sharpen differentiation.

  • Intake and Triage: Manage RFx intake and triage, make bid/no-bid recommendations and help prioritize the team's workload.

  • Quality Assurance: Lead the final review of the team's typical RFx responses for compliance, accuracy, consistency and brand voice.

  • Content Library Ownership: Own the structure and governance of our RFx library (Loopio), working with subject matter experts to keep content current.

  • Process Improvement: Work with the Manager to improve proposal processes, templates and tools, including AI-assisted drafting, and share lessons learned from wins and losses.

  • Mentorship and Sales Support: Coach other writers on writing, structure and strategy, and support Sales with demos, follow-up questions and custom collateral.

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years of experience writing and managing RFx responses, ideally for B2B SaaS or enterprise technology.

  • A track record of owning complex, high-value proposals from start to finish.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to make complex information clear and concise.

  • Ability to develop win strategies and position Benevity against client needs.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple RFx deadlines at once.

  • Experience building or managing a proposal content library in Loopio or similar RFx software.

  • Experience with Salesforce, Google Drive, Adobe and procurement sourcing platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, Scout).

  • Ability to work with and influence senior stakeholders and subject matter experts.

  • Experience mentoring, coaching or reviewing the work of other writers.

  • Comfort using AI tools to work more efficiently while maintaining quality.

  • Knowledge of SaaS, cloud software, cybersecurity and global privacy compliance is an asset.

  • Familiarity with corporate social responsibility, social impact, employee giving and volunteering, or grants management is an asset.
