As part of the global Worley team, we enjoy shared resources and opportunities with more than 20 Canadian locations and 40 countries.

Worley Canada Construction is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to lead procurement activities across complex project scopes, including engineered equipment, bulk permanent materials, and indirect project procurement.

This role is responsible for managing the full procurement lifecycle—from RFQ through award, purchase order execution, and closeout—while ensuring commercial alignment, mitigating risk, and delivering value to the project. The successful candidate will bring strong experience in negotiation, supplier strategy, and cross-functional coordination in a fast-paced EPC/EPF and Construction environment.

Work Conditions:

Edmonton Home Office based schedule. 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead procurement for assigned project scopes, ensuring alignment with project schedule, budget, and execution strategy
  • Establish sourcing strategies for engineered equipment, bulk permanent materials, and/or indirect project procurement
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior buyers and procurement team members
  • Act as a key procurement interface with project management, engineering, and construction teams

Procurement Process

  • Review material requisitions submitted by the project team.
  • Prepare and issue RFQ/RFP documentation based on project needs.
  • Source and evaluate potential suppliers for quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
  • Recommend suppliers based on comprehensive evaluation criteria.
  • Prepare and issue accurate and timely purchase orders (POs).

Supplier & Order Management

  • Prepare, issue, and manage complex purchase orders and agreements
  • Ensure contractual compliance with project requirements and company standards
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks, including scope gaps, schedule exposure, and cost escalation
  • Manage change orders, claims, and commercial deviations throughout the procurement lifecycle
  • Ensure accurate and timely PO administration to support invoicing and financial controls
  • Close out POs once all contractual and procedural requirements are fulfilled.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with project management, construction teams, client representatives, quality control, project controls, accounts payable, and suppliers.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of procurement workflows and client-specific requirements.
  • Ensure alignment between procurement activities and construction priorities
  • Manage deadlines and proactively communicate scheduling issues.
  • Distribute procurement reports to clients and internal stakeholders as required.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of client-specific procurement and contractual requirements

Qualifications:

Required

  • 7–12+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably within EPC/EPF or industrial construction
  • Demonstrated experience procuring complex engineered equipment and project materials
  • Strong commercial acumen and contract negotiation experience
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and resolve commercial challenges
  • Advanced skills in Excel and procurement systems
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with Aveva ERM or similar ERP/procurement systems
  • Diploma, Degree, or Certification in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering
  • Experience working in both home office and field/project environments
