Job description

Ready to Help Shape the Future of Legal Tech?!

At Litera, we don’t just build software, we transform how the world’s top law firms operate. Every day, we Raise The Bar™ for what’s possible through AI, innovation, and solutions that power millions of legal professionals worldwide. If you’re energized by scale, real impact, and meaningful challenges, you’ll feel right at home here.

Where You’ll Work

Hybrid: This is a hybrid role based in Toronto with the expectation to be in office at least 3 days a week for collaboration and connection.

Why this Role Matters

As a Senior UX Designer, you’ll own the end-to-end design experience for a core product area — directly shaping how legal professionals interact with Litera’s platform across Microsoft add-ins, web, and mobile. You’ll partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Legal SMEs to frame problems, drive alignment, and deliver designs grounded in real user insight and product analytics. This is a high-impact role where your ability to balance speed with craft, navigate complexity, and elevate design maturity will be felt across the product and the organization. If you’re excited about designing AI-powered experiences in a complex, domain-rich environment, this is your opportunity.

What You’ll Deliver

• Own end-to-end design for your product area — from research and problem framing through release — ensuring every solution is grounded in user insight and delivers measurable outcomes.

• Partner with Product Management to shape problems, define scope, challenge assumptions, and set priorities that drive the product forward.

• Lead cross-functional collaboration with Product, Legal SMEs, and Engineering — aligning stakeholders, driving decisions, and navigating the complexity of legal workflows.

• Leverage product analytics, user research, and domain expertise to make informed design decisions — knowing when to run a full study versus when quick insights will do.

• Design across Microsoft add-ins, web, and mobile experiences, adapting fidelity and output to the stage — from early concepts that guide alignment to polished prototypes ready for build.

• Elevate design maturity across the team by introducing process improvements, raising the quality bar, and championing a research-informed, user-centered approach.

Litera is committed to providing reasonable accommodations throughout the recruitment process. If you need an accommodation, please let us know and we’ll work with you to meet your needs.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

• 5+ years of experience as a UX/Product Designer with a track record of shipping and iterating on live products.

• B2B SaaS experience, particularly in environments where you’ve helped elevate design maturity — whether through process, collaboration, or raising the quality bar on what ships.

• Working knowledge of AI design principles and a genuine interest in how AI and agentic products are evolving.

• Experience designing within the Microsoft ecosystem (add-ins, integrations).

• Ability to leverage product analytics tools like Pendo and existing organizational knowledge to inform design decisions.

• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to align stakeholders, present design rationale, and navigate complex problem spaces.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience in LegalTech or similarly complex, domain-driven industries.

• Familiarity with collaborative prototyping environments such as Replit.

• Background independently running lightweight UX research (surveys, interviews, usability tests).

• Experience designing for mobile alongside desktop and web experiences.

Great candidates don’t check every box. If this role excites you but your experience doesn’t perfectly match every qualification, we encourage you to apply. You may be just the right person for this or another role at Litera.

What You’ll Experience

• A team that shows up. Work alongside people who collaborate, support one another, and lead with integrity.

• Global Reach. Partner with teams around the world to solve complex challenges that matter.

• Real opportunity for growth. Expand your impact through meaningful stretch opportunities, visibility and career development.

• AI-driven innovation. Work at the intersection of legal technology, customer outcomes, and cutting-edge AI.

Pay Transparency for Ontario Applicants

The base salary range for this role is $100,000 to $130,000 CAD. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, education, and other relevant qualifications. This role is also eligible to earn commission based on performance. In addition to base salary, Litera offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement savings plan with company match, and incentive and recognition programs. Benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.

Litera is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
