Job description

We would have liked the following lines to go without saying, but we know that is not the case. At Republik, our mission is clear: help brands change the world. To get there, it is essential that we offer an inclusive environment for a diverse team where everyone feels deeply free to bring their convictions to work, heard, and supported. We sincerely believe in the power of recruitment, hiring, training, compensation, and promotion that does not discriminate against anyone based on race, religion, skin color, national origin, sex, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, physical disability, age, language, accent, or any other characteristic that makes them a unique person. We also know that by bringing together people with different identities, experiences, and abilities, we are able to understand the communities we work with, be more creative, and collectively transform the industries we create for.

Republik is looking for a Specialist, Video Content Creation who wants to work with brands that take concrete action for the environment and society.

This person imagines, creates, and produces video content that has as much personality as meaning. With a solid foundation in content creation, they master digital platform visual codes, know how to produce a variety of formats, and instinctively understand what resonates online. Versatile and autonomous, they are as comfortable in front of the computer as they are behind the camera, and know how to lead a project from idea to final delivery.

Alright, so what’s the job?

Everything is to be done! We have the ambition to change the world through the Creation of Social Capital™, nothing less. More concretely, here is a list of day-to-day tasks to accomplish:

  • Conceptualize and produce video content (short and long formats) adapted to different platforms and to the needs of clients and the agency;
  • Participate in the conception and development of video concepts, from the ideation phase to final delivery;
  • Shoot video content, from preparation to capture;
  • Collaborate with videographers, copywriters, and strategists to translate creative intent into striking visual and video concepts;
  • Handle post-production and video editing, including variations for social media;
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging social media trends and new features.

What kind of background are you looking for?

We’ve never believed in overly long requirement lists. Simply put, these are characteristics that could help accomplish the work — and we encourage everyone to apply even without checking every box:

  • Experience in digital content creation within an agency or relevant environment;
  • Mastery of visual codes and formats specific to digital platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.);
  • Proficiency in video — from capture to post-production; photography is an asset;
  • Keen sense of aesthetics and the ability to maintain a strong visual consistency across different formats and platforms;
  • Editorial sensitivity and an understanding of the alignment between visual content and brand voice;
  • Ability to manage content projects autonomously, with support from the Creative Director and Art Directors;
  • Genuine interest in the world of social and environmental impact;
  • Interest in emerging technologies and new forms of creation;
  • Professional proficiency in French and English. Professional mastery of English is essential for presentations and exchanges outside Quebec. Valuing French, we maintained this requirement only after concluding that no internal reorganization allowed these functions to be performed otherwise;
  • Knowledge of the Adobe Suite and content creation tools (an asset).

And what are the conditions?

Here are some of our employee benefit initiatives:

  • 3 weeks of vacation upon hiring, plus 2 weeks of leave between Christmas and New Year's Day;
  • The option to complete your workweek in 4 days thanks to Meeting-Free Fridays;
  • Hybrid work setup (2 days per week at the office);
  • Comprehensive insurance coverage after 3 months of employment, including access to a telemedicine and telepsychology platform;
  • Unlimited paid sick leave that can be used for mental health, wellness, and/or menstrual leave, with no questions asked;
  • Flexibility for parents to care for their children and sick leave for family reasons;
  • The opportunity to work remotely abroad for up to six weeks;
  • The option to take unpaid leave or work part-time;
  • $200 per year allocated to wellness needs;
  • RRSP program with employer matching;
  • Happy hours and cultural events;
  • Monthly training sessions;
  • Paid mentorship sessions for anyone interested in leadership roles or other promotions.

Above all, what sets us apart is the people who work at Republik. Because we truly care about the team members who make up our agency, we make sure to do everything we can to make them happy. Our goal is to offer an environment that fosters personal and professional growth so that every member of the agency can bring their convictions to work.

And because we have so much more to offer, we invite you to come discover it for yourself!
