Job Description:

The AIH 1 pod is part of Loyalty & Card Services within Global Technology & Solutions. The pod operates in a highly integrated technology environment, supporting APIs, distributed applications, and internal and external partner integrations.

We are looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst who can bridge business needs and technology solutions while bringing strong systems-analysis capability, technical curiosity, and end-to-end ownership.

The successful candidate will work closely with Product Owners, Engineering, Quality Engineering, Solution Architecture, Operations, and partner/vendor teams to deliver complex initiatives across the Loyalty ecosystem. This aligns with the pod's current PI planning model, which focuses on objectives, sprint planning, risks, and cross-team dependencies.

Job Description

As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting and evolving the loyalty portfolio. You will lead requirements and systems analysis for initiatives involving REST APIs, distributed applications, system-to-system integrations, and external partner/vendor integrations. You will be expected to understand an initiative end-to-end, identify upstream and downstream impacts, translate business needs into detailed system requirements, and help drive delivery from early discovery through implementation and post-production validation.

This is a senior BSA role requiring the ability to independently navigate complex technology ecosystems and lead requirements discussions involving multiple teams and stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

Business & Systems Analysis

  • Lead requirements elicitation and systems analysis for complex initiatives involving APIs, integrations, and distributed applications.
  • Translate business needs into detailed business and system requirements, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, interface requirements, and integration scenarios.
  • Perform impact analysis across upstream and downstream systems when changes are introduced to APIs, interfaces, business rules, or partner flows.
  • Identify requirements gaps, assumptions, dependencies, constraints, and integration risks early in the delivery lifecycle.
  • Facilitate requirements and solution walkthroughs with Product, Engineering, QE, Architecture, Operations, and partner teams.

API & Integration Analysis

  • Develop a strong functional and technical understanding of the Loyalty API and integration ecosystem.
  • Analyze REST API contracts, JSON/XML payloads, request and response structures, data mappings, business rules, error handling, and system dependencies.
  • Work with Engineering and Architecture to understand integration patterns and document end-to-end solution flows.
  • Assess upstream and downstream impacts across consuming applications.
  • Support API changes, modernization and migration initiatives, interface changes, and application decommissioning activities.

Partner & Vendor Integration

  • Lead functional and systems analysis for partner/vendor-facing applications and integrations.
  • Document end-to-end workflows between TD systems and external partners, including interface specifications, data exchanges, authentication/SSO dependencies, exception scenarios, and operational processes.
  • Coordinate requirements and technical clarifications between internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain consumer guides, system flows, interface documentation, support documentation, and operational knowledge.

Agile Delivery & Leadership

  • Partner with Product Owners and Engineering leads during PI and sprint planning.
  • Break complex initiatives into well-defined features, stories, acceptance criteria, and integration scenarios.
  • Support backlog refinement, dependency identification, estimation, and prioritization.
  • Provide BSA leadership throughout design, development, testing, implementation, and post-production validation.
  • Partner with QE teams to ensure adequate coverage of business workflows, interfaces, negative scenarios, and end-to-end integration paths.
  • Support production-issue analysis by helping determine impacted workflows, interfaces, business rules, and upstream/downstream dependencies.

What You Bring

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Business Systems Analysis or comparable technology-delivery experience, preferably with experience operating at a Senior BSA level.
  • Strong experience working with REST APIs, distributed applications, and system-to-system integrations.
  • Ability to analyze API contracts, JSON/XML payloads, request/response structures, interface specifications, and data mappings.
  • Strong experience documenting end-to-end system flows and upstream/downstream dependencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into detailed functional and system requirements.
  • Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, interface requirements, process/sequence flows, data mappings, business rules, exception scenarios, and operational documentation.
  • Experience working with external partners or vendor integrations.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile delivery, including PI/sprint planning, refinement, development, QE/UAT, and implementation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Candidates should be comfortable working with several of the following technologies and concepts: RESTful APIs, API gateways, JSON / XML, Swagger / OpenAPI specifications, Postman or equivalent API-analysis tools, Distributed application architecture, Authentication and authorization, SSO, OAuth, and token-based authentication, Data and interface mapping, Integration and sequence diagrams, SQL for investigation and data validation, Jira / Confluence or equivalent Agile collaboration tools, Application monitoring and logging concepts.

Nice to Have
