About the Role

You will mentor and guide the professional and technical development of your team, ensuring their success aligns with the success of the product. We are looking for a manager who thrives on balancing leadership with hands-on technical direction, is eager to have a significant impact on the success of the business, and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.
What You'll Do

- Lead a team of engineers through a significant feature or product launch in collaboration with Product and Design.
- Help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices.
- Own hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development for your team.
- Provide leadership and direction to the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
What You'll Need
We care more about execution, ownership, and impact than fancy degrees or FAANG experience. If the following resonates with you, we want to hear from you:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
- Proven track record of leading and scaling engineering teams in a high-growth startup or SaaS environment.
- Deep knowledge of modern software development practices, including agile methodologies, code versioning, testing frameworks, and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Experience defining and delivering an engineering roadmap that balances new features, technical debt, and scalability.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to break down complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- A passion for mentoring and developing engineers to reach their full potential.
- The ability to navigate ambiguity, make data-driven decisions, and adapt to shifting priorities in a startup environment.
- Empathy for the challenges of incident management and an interest in developer-focused products.
- Enjoyment of working on and contributing to a high-performing team that consistently delivers results.
- A technical background with Ruby on Rails is a plus.
