Description
The ALS Society of Saskatchewan is seeking a part-time Executive Director to lead its human resources, administer payroll, represent the Society in discussions with government and oversee its operations.
This role will appeal to someone who enjoys working directly with staff and is equally comfortable processing payroll, briefing a volunteer Board and meeting with government officials.
The Society supports people living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), their families and caregivers across Saskatchewan. Our services include equipment loans, adaptive technology, support groups and access to counselling and aftercare. Staff and volunteers deliver programs and events. The Executive Director supports their work, resolves operational issues and brings decisions to the Board when needed.
What youll do
Manage human resources. Oversee recruitment, onboarding, employment records, leave and performance reviews. Give staff clear direction, support their work and handle workplace concerns with discretion.
Administer payroll. Verify hours, leave and pay adjustments, process payroll on time and ensure payroll records, remittances and year-end documents are accurate and complete.
Lead government relations. Maintain relationships with ministries and public officials. Prepare briefing notes and funding requests, represent the Society at meetings and follow up on commitments. Advocacy priorities include sustainable funding and better coordination of ALS care in Saskatchewan.
Oversee operations and finances. Stay informed about service needs, work with the Treasurer to monitor the budget and track agreements, grant reports and filing deadlines. Bring financial pressures and service concerns to the Board early enough to be acted on.
Support the Board and community partnerships. Report on staffing, finances, and advocacy; carry out Board decisions; and maintain relationships with healthcare partners, funders, and community organizations.
